I was just wondering if any of you get food kicks where you just don't want to eat anything but that one particular food.
I have been on a gyro kick and they are the only thing that sounds even relatively appetizing to me. Since I can't make them at home, I am spending quite a bit going out to get them.
This occasionally happens to me. Sometimes there will be a week or so where all I want to eat are breakfast foods. Nothing but pancakes, waffles, cereal, or an omelette will do for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
actually, this is weird, but lately nothing sounds good to me at all. i think to myself "ok, you can go to the grocery store and get whatever you want!" but i can't think of a darn thing i want
But mine tends to be a whole day - like right now I'm eating scrambled egg whites for breakfast, apples as snacks, salads for lunch - I think for me it's more of a diet issue & when I figure out what works i eat it until I am so sick of those foods that i never want to look at them again.

Lately it's been tomato juice. I've always kind of liked it but lately it's the only thing I ever want for a snack/drink. Not sure if it's pregnancy hormones or if I've just rediscovered it.
Also, sometimes I only want to eat cereal. It doesn't even matter what kind. I could eat only cereal for a couple weeks at a time. Also cottage cheese.
I go on food kicks all the time. Right now it's chicken caeser wraps. I never liked wraps before, but decided to give them a second chance a few weeks ago and now they're all I want. If I have ramen soup (is that what you even call it? I say oodles of noodles ), forget it... I'll eat it everyday for lunch until there's none left in the house (and my mom buys those big boxes of like 20 or 30). There's one brand of frozen pizza that I and it only costs 99 cents at Walmart so when my mom buys it, she buys it in bulk... like 10 at a time. I eat one a day until there's no more left . Needless to say, she doesn't buy it very often. There is also a brand of chips that I love, and I could eat them everyday... basically, I do. One more... Ben and Jerry's (I'm a Cherry Garcia girl). If I have it once, I want it everyday for like a week. I'm such an awful eater.
add me to the sushi group. there's this one place that has the best lobster rolls ever. i also do the sashimi, rolls, and green tea there. my server even knows what i order, sooo bad.

Me too. The gyro place that I go to is pretty small and they have a open-ish kitchen. If one of the cooks sees me they ask me if I want "the usual" even if there are people in front of me. It is nice that they know you and remember what you like and a little embarassing and bad.
I go on food kicks ALL the time. I'll eat whatever it is I'm craving for a couple weeks and then I won't eat it again for a month or two.
Some of my more recent cravings: sushi (god how I love it), tex-mex (this one I avoid as much as possible b/c the increase in ass size is sooo not worth it), cheerios, and pitas and hummus (yum!).
This very second I am craving yellowtail - thanks to all this sushi talk - and a burrito, although not together.
