Ok, for those of you who have been following my posts in the career section, I applied for an internal position, although it's not official yet, I think I got it. My boss invited me to accompany her to Seattle next Monday to meet all our big shot clients at the largest software company in the world. I checked the 5 day forecast & apparently will be raining Mon-Tue.
So . . . I need a "not to over the top, I'm not trying too hard" business-casual outfit. I dress pretty girly and I want to be myself, so I don't want to look too stuffy. I don't have time to order online, but I literally live near every chain store imaginable i.e: gap. ON, JCP, BR, NY&CO, etc.
you said girly, so maybe anthropologie? i am thinking of some basic black trousers or something you already have (i would wear pants if it's raining) and then some kind of tweed/embellished jacket from anthro and cute pumps?
I love this look from ON although I think the scarf is a little much...but maybe that's because it H-O-T in Texas
And congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ETA: I love that teal / gray look that jj put together. And I found a blazer like that at JCPenney & it was on sale (not sure how much the Gap one was, just letting you know though).

Laken1, I also bought the velvet blzr @JCP in a sz 8 hoping I could exchange it for a sz 2 if they ever got more in, but I may just get my $, cuz I was leaning towards teal and the JCP one is emerald green.
I'm torn btwn the tweed blazer look bumblebee suggested since I wouldn't have to shop for the entire outfit and the Express outfits jj suggested. I'll make sure & post pics of my final decision
