I have two events happening this weekend and can't figure out what to wear. I'm probably worrying unnecessarily, but I really want/need to look my best.


First, I am having dinner with an old college friend and his wife. He's been living out of state for a while and I haven't seen him, and I really want to look good. Not b/c there's anything weird going on, but just b/c last time I saw him I was in college and I weighed like 15 pounds more than I weigh now, and his wife is goooorgeous, so I don't want to feel inferior. They are very casual, so I probably need to wear jeans, but I can go nuts with the top and shoes b/c that's just me. I'm thinking of buying a top for this, and I have every conceivable style of shoes, so if anyone has ideas on a top, please post, and then maybe I can put together outfits with what I already have?


Then, I have a critical date. I feel like I've kind've screwed things up with this guy, but I do like him. To quote SATC, "I'm in front of the firing squad, but I haven't been shot." I need to look HOT. Would my new VS top and jeans and heels work? Or should I go with a dress? (I'm anticipating dinner out, etc. - but not really sure)


Any help is appreciated! I'm really at a loss ...

I have several possible LBDs. Two similar to these:


BCBG Max Azria 'D Esprit' Trimmed Point Strapless Dress but black, from anthro, with boys instead of ruffles, but still tiered


Nicole Miller Double Strap Seamed Dress but mine has ruching around the waist and an assymetric hemline

I think you should wear the VS top, jeans & some pointy stilletos to your date.  I think guys are suckers when it comes to a girl in jeans.

I agree.  And that top is so hot, but subtle too.  I'll look around for tops for your dinner.

That VS top is beautiful and it will look hot with jeans.  Can you post a review once you get the top?  Also, what does the front look like?  Good luck with your date.

What about a top like this for your dinner?  It's sooo gorgeous and it ties in the back, which I think is very flattering.

It is beautiful IRL.  I bought it for my best friend for her birthday and she was highly disappointed that I had picked up an XS instead of a small because she wanted to wear it out Fri. night.
