Funny or Cheesy?

If you received this response card with a wedding invitation, would you laugh or say "Ughhhhhhh!"?

Was the rest of the invitation, dare I say, "funny"?

If I got that in the mail for a party, I would think it was cute. But then I have a very unrestricted sense of humor... guess it depends on how uptight your friends are?

I think it's borderline.

Maybe less options (like losing the "attend...undecided" and the "will not attend...heard about bells") would make it better. I think it's a little overdone as is, personally. If I actually recieved that exact card, I'd think two things - 1. they're trying too hard. and 2. they have *way* too much time on their hands for people who are planning a wedding. *s*

wait - this is for a wedding? eh - I'd have to say go formal for a wedding, but this is cute for a party invite...

ETA...

wait - if I got that in a wedding invite... I think I would like it - it breaks up the formality - and it is funny...  I say go for it - it is your wedding - lighten up and have some fun with it! why follow the herd?

I think it depends on what the invitation looked like, personally I think it's hilarious.

I think it's funny, but I tend to have a less formal view of weddings & think all that etiquette is fooie - I realize that is controversial though.

At the end of the day, I always default to: it's your wedding, do what you want & hope that the uptight, offended people won't be there!

Some more specs:

The rest of the invite wouldn't be 'funny', and I personally find alot of etiquette stuff to be rather uptight and ridiculous anyway.  But, it would still be 'proper' in most respects, but in no way fussy.  Our families are not 'fancy' people, and wouldn't know Emily Post if she came up and bit them in the ass.

I can see how it might come off a little overdone, though.  Which line(s) would you remove?

I like the idea behind it.  I like the idea of a humorous card for a wedding response card.  Sometimes, people take their weddings so seriously that it seems like more work than fun.  This card, to me, shows that the couple is fun and not very traditional.  I wouldn't be offended or think it is bad etiquette or anything.

I think its cute.. a little funny and a little cheesy at the same time. I would not have done it for my wedding, but I would not be upset or anything if I got this in the mail.

I think it's cute and funny, but I bet older folks would be totally confused by all the choices.  Hell, I think I might get confused

I love it and think it's really funny.  I can see older people being confused by it though.

Again, it depends on your audience, but I think it's funny.  Besides you're just talking about bells - how controversial could that be??

I think it's hilarious! I'd crack up if I got that in the mail. And if I were getting married, I'd send it. After all my recent wedding shindigs, I think a sense of humor is essential. I especially love the "regardless of bell controversy" bit. Funny!

I love it and if it fits your personality, you should totally do it! As for the older people not getting it- I disagree. I got got back my RSVP cards and my grandparents all wrote cheesy stuff like that on them! I think it gives them personality.

I personally love it. It could get a bit confusing for the old folks though. I wouldn't be able to send it because neither my family nor my BFs family would understand the humor.

I think it's funny personally, but you run the risk of others (particularly older ppl) thinking it's silly and/or inappropriate.  if you don't care and it fits with your personality (as a pp said) i'd do it.  just make sure you don't think you would regret it later.  also, i would either do it entirely, with all the options or not at all.  i think you need all of the options to make it funny.  omitting one or more of them would make it less funny, kwim?
