Newport news boots are ok, but they are not that well made. Those are not knee-high boots either, and they look like the leather is thick/stiff, so they might not scrunch on you if that's what you're worried about.

these aren't that expensive at $65, and they look like they might fit more closely

my friend has a pair of boots from NN that she's worn for two seasons straight. they are faux suede and everyone always asks her where she got them. so maybe it's hit or miss with NN?

ooh - I like the target ones - good find, dot.

I do have a pair of almost flat NN leather boots that I've worn for the past couple of years - very comfy - but again, not the most well made (I'm talking craftmanship (details, quality of leather), not fallapartmanship).
