corduroy jacket ques

Are corduroy jackets out?  I read an article last night that said they were "so last year".  I love them and am incorporating velvet jacket into my wardrobe, but I still like my corduroy.  Honest opinions?

A velvet jacket is like the must have item this season, but that doesn't mean that corduroy jackets are on their way out. Plus, you should wear what you love.

totally disagree. there's not much difference betweent the two anyway - one has ribs, the other doesn't (some of the velvet I'm seeing has the same nap as corduroy - it just doesn't have the ribs).  I wore a corduroy jacket the other day, and plan to continue wearing it.
