H&M Return (mini rant)
Permalink Closed

So about three weeks ago, I returned about $80 worth of stuff to my local H&M.  I had purchased the items on my check card, so I had them credit everything back to the card. The return at the store went smoothly enough.  However, the transaction has still not posted to my account!  I emailed my bank (wellsfargo) and they said the merchant has up to 30 days to post the transaction.  LAME!  I've never noticed this problem with any other major retailer - has anyone had a similar problem with H&M?

i had this exact same problem with h&m over the summer, and swore i would only buy things from there using cash.

this is what i did.  call your h&m and ask for the number for their accounting. i'm not sure if this is the right term, but they send all their receipts to different processing centers and you're going to need the number for that processing center. when i called my h&m i just explained what happened, i returned something, it hasn't shown up in my accountant, who do i speak to, and the person gave me the number. then you have to call them and explain what happened and ask about the status of your refund. they should be able to look it up and tell you what's going on, or they'll research. when it happened to me, somehow they "forgot" to process my refund, but once i called them about it, it was credited to my account within a week. hth!

Honey, thanks for the info!  I will definitely be calling my H&M today when I get home from work!
