I met a really cool girl a few weeks ago and I really want to be her friend. She gave me her email but not her phone number or anything. I sent her an email to say good luck on her exams (she has gone back to college and has midterms this month) and she wrote back a thankyou. What do I do now? How can I "persue" her without seeming like a stalker? We don't have any common friends so how can I go about getting to know her better? Would it be weird to just come right out and ask her to hang out or go to a pub or something? If she turns me down, how long before I ask again? Or should I let it go and see if she will keep contact with me?
Making new girlfriends is harder than dating boys.
i just met a girl i wanted to be friends with, too. it is really weird.
we met at the gym. she said "hey if you want to grab a drink or something give me a call."
she was new in town, so i thought i'd call. i asked her to go to a concert with me and some friends. she said "sure, that sounds like so much fun! call me friday around 4"
i was super excited that i had made a new girlfriend. but then the concert rolled around and when i called her, she never answered the phone.
my story ended badly, but the asking part was easier than i thought. just email her and ask her to go out with you and another one of your more talkative friends; that way, you should always have something to chat about.

ask her if she would like to meet for lunch or go shopping sometime, or both? or maybe go get a pedicure? ask her to do girlie stuff first before you try asking her to go out on the town with you, that's best left to gals who know each other a little better.

I agree- it's easier to make "real" friends with peopel that aren't mainly drinking buddies. Plus, how much can you really chat in a bar? They are so noisy... Ask her to grab a cup of coffee or something- if she had an evening class she might like to go beforehand. Or get together a few other friends and invite them all to go apple picking or something!
I would e-mail and ask her if she wanted to grab lunch and a little shopping....then if she says no, then I would probably leave it in her court. I agree making friends is harder than meeting boys. I have the boy, but I would love to meet new girlfriends...
I agree with all the other input. I'd ask once and then leave it in her court.
And not to hijack your thread, but I think it's hard to even meet potential girls to be friends with. A lot of my close friends are moving in the next couple months, and I'm worried I'll be lonely once they're gone, but I never meet new people to be friends with. So I'd take this chance while you've got it!
