Hollister sweater sizing question UPDATE!
Permalink Closed

I'm a 34 full C/small D, size 2/4 at the mall and wear an S at BR/AE...S or M at A&F...M in Juicy hoodies. Any chance on Earth I can get into a small in this sweater? They only have the white one left in S and L and I see myself drowing in anything that's a large.

I might be wrong, but I think Hollister and AF run the same.

is there any way you can order both and return one? Hollister is all over the place, imo. I own things in large from there (i'm about your size but small boobs ), as well as medium and maybe one thing in small? i think their clothes run sort of small, so you should try both just in case. Could you go to a store- i think they have them in cali, no?

I think Hollister might be cut a little smaller than A&F. That was my experience anyway, when I worked at A&F years ago.

I think the small would def fit you everywhere but in the chest. Do you plan to wear the sweater closed? Cuz if you are going to wear it open most of the time, I would def get the small. But If you want it big and cozy, I might hold out for the medium.

Would you like one of us to look for the sweater for you at our local hollisters?

I have this sweater in a small. I am a (small) 32B, but other than that, I wear the same sizes that you talked about (except in Juicy... I like mine to fit a little snug). I'll bet if you get a small, it'll look better on you than on me. (Might be TMI, but I wear a push-up bra with mine, because I feel like what little I have to show off gets lost in the fabric) I say go for the small... I didn't try on the large, but it looked very big in the store.

I have about the same size chest you do, and same sizes otherwise, and I would say you need the medium.  I found with this sweater it didn't drape right if the sweater wasn't big enough.  The fold over collar just wouldn't lay right with the small I don't think.  The L would definitely be too big, I think M would be just right.

The Hollister sweater that I just got was a size small (it's pictured in threadstyle).  I usually wear an XS/S and size 2.  It was my first experience with Hollister and I don't think I could of worn anything smaller, for a more slouchy look I could of maybe even gone with the medium.

I have that sweater and we are about the same size. I think getting the S would be too small just because the sweater won't wrap around all the way if you plan to wear it closed. The M would be a better fit all around, at least it was for me. I got the sweater a few weeks ago when it first went on sale and there were no mediums left in the cream color so it could be rather difficult finding one in store. Maybe you could try eBay if you can't find the M in store or online.

They do have stores in Cali, but they're all in the suburbs and I don't have a car, so it would be very difficult for me to get to one. I think it's a demographics thing, becuase there are plenty of Abercrombie stores in LA.

I strongly suspect that I would prefer the medium over the small since I want this to be my go-to outerwear. I'm going to call the customer service line and see if they can help me at all. I can't believe I'm losing it over a sweater that costs $39.50.

If anyone could keep and eye out for it in their store, that would be great.

hey girl, so i'm such a biter... i LOVE that sweater!  it's totally cute!  i actually just went into a hollister for the first time this past weekend at the northridge mall, but i didn't see that sweater.  anyways, my question is... how do you navigate the website to find that sweater?  i tried looking under "babes" (or whatever they call it) and "sweaters" but none of those looked like it!  btw, take this as a compliment because i know you are super picky on fabrics so if you are considering buying it, i know it must be great!

ETA:  okay, n/m, i found it in clearance... but there is only L in white and M & L in brown.  i'm not a fan of the burgundy, so i guess i'm SOL.  i might try to swing by the northridge mall tomorrow on the way to school though so i'll call you if i do in case you want me to pick one up!

UPDATE:

I called Hollister and they said that the white sweater in a M was on backorder. They're expecting them in on the 18th.

I went ahead and put myself on the list. The CS rep (her name was Jenny) was SO sweet and so cordial and polite. I was totally amazed by how nice and helpful she was, especially since I was prepared for CS to be a bunch of incompetent 13 year olds.

If you girls see any white ones in a M in-store, please do tell. I thank you girls so much for all your help!

I'm still really wanting a real wool or cashmere one, though. I may look around after Christmas during the winter sales, but this one is really cute and will do me very well for now!

Ok I lied... I just checked, and my sweater is a medium . I had to get a medium because my store was out of small and I refused to leave without that sweater. I guess I forgot, since I always buy small at Hollister. (That explains why my frame gets lost in it, I guess ) Sorry, Lilykind!
