so i have purchased two pair of maternity jeans, one from target (that were 5$ and i can't find the receipt so i cannot return them) and one from the gap. the target ones are hideously dumpy (HUGE), but may fit later on in my preg. they are exactly my length though, which is super exciting. the gap ones were 68$, and while i thought they looked amazing in the store, i'm sort of feeling a "hills stretch jeans" vibe. (does anyone even remember hills?) they are supposed to be bootcut, but don't really feel it. i am tempted to just purchase my favorite pair of jeans in maternity (coh ingrid) but a hundred bones (via ebay) is a lot to cough up for jeans i only intend to wear for five more months. however, since no store around me carries their maternity version, i'm worried that they are going to have tent legs like every other jean i've tried on.

any suggestions? i don't need to look saucy, but since i'm already feeling unkempt, i'd like to look somewhat put together. i am almost 4 months along, and not super showing. i can still fit into my regular jeans, but there is a bit of unbuttoning going on during dinner.

thanks!

Did you purchase the gap roll panel jeans?  After looking at a ton of different kinds, i finally bought a pair through ebay NWT for $18.99 and they are perfect.  You can wear the "panel" over your stomach or below.  They are so comfortable.

I used to like the Gap Maternity Long and Lean jeans best when I was pregnant.

i don't have any kids, so i have no firsthand experience with maternity clothes, but i know that i will spend whatever on a pair of jeans that feel great on b/c i know the cost per wear will be nothing.  so i think that if you would be able to put the citizens on and feel great in them, then they are probably worth the investment.  you can always put them on ebay again when you're done with them.  to me, jeans are just one of those things that are worth whatever you have to pay to have them fit and feel good in them.

have you tried looking at any mom-to-be forums to see if anyone has tried the citizens to see how they fit?

I totally agree with e_doli.  I think you should spring for the citizens (assuming they fit well) because you will wear them a whole lot in the next 5 months.  Also if they are the thing you put on when you want to look great without any effort, the $100 will be well spent.

I bought one pair of Seven For All Mankind maternity jeans on ebay and I wore them all during my pregnancy.  So worth the money, and still much less than retail.  They were so comfy and made me feel so stylish in those late months when you feel like you are going to pop!

I lived in a pair of juicy jeans that I totally splurged on...I also had a pair of gap jeans that I loved that I am actually wearing now (until my prepreg. clothes fit)
