International Birthday Present

Ok not sure what topic category this fits in, but anyways....

I need to send a birthday gift to my ex boyfriend who lives in England.  Now hes not really an ex ex boyfriend per se, we only broke up because he had to move back to england, legally could not stay here, but we are still very close and keep in touch constantly, coming over to visit me in november actually.  And we both care for eachother etc.. and still would like to be together again some day, but we are both only 23 so focusing on our career goals right now.

But back to the gift, I haven't seen him for 2 years and haven't sent him a bday gift for 2 years either.  But really want to send him one this year.  I want it to be something very very special, but not lovey dovey or romanticy.  I just want it to WOW him and show him that i really care about him and was thinking of him on his birthday.  Now his bday is october 24th so i need to think quick as it takes awhile to be shipped to england and the 24th is coming up soon, yikes!

So im hoping you girls can help me put together some sort of gift basket with all sorts of things in it, just not sure what to get or where to start.  I wanted to buy him things you can only get in america, as he misses it alot.  Just don't know what.  Maybe you girls can help get me started

Hope this makes sense and sorry so long, just looking for ideas.... ThANKS!!!!

Well we can start with candy. Does he have a candy that he cannot get over there.

Does he have a favorite local band, new cd etc.

oK this is hard. I cannot think of anything that we would have here that they wouldn't.

Maybe a few cool random t shirts. Good Luck

I'm trying to think what I missed when I lived there that could be put in a basket.

Maybe some DVDs of his favorite shows that only air here?  *make sure his DVD player can play them

I missed some breakfast cereals you can't get in the UK, so a friend shipped them to me monthly.

Skippy Peanut Butter

Anything grape because all they had was blackcurrant flavored stuff and no fake grape flavored stuff

What were some of his favorite foods while he was living here?

I second this!  Peanut butter is just not readily available anywhere else in the world and I missed it like crazy when I was abroad!  I think putting together a package with a bunch of Amercian stuff would be cool.  Peanut butter, Oreos, Hershey's chocolate, a Slinky, Silly Putty, that kind of stuff would be kind of fun.  I also like the idea of putting in a few CD's--maybe like the top 5 cd's out there right now?  Even though none of those things are a big deal, they might be difficult to find over there and they're very American, which is fun.

OK those are really good ideas, and definitely have a starting point now, is there anything else you girls can think of, that i can send over, doesn't have to be american or anything, just something that would be nice gift to give?
