Dress Shopping Stamina Question
Permalink Closed

Okay my mom is coming up to NY for one weekend to go dress shopping my itinerary is as follows so far:

Friday
Stamford, CT bridal shop

Saturday
9:30am Kleinfelds (so excited but scared because i have a budget)
11:30 another bridal shop
Grab quick bite like jamba juice or something
1:30 RK Bridal

Sunday
noon - Bridal Reflections in LI
3pm - One more bridal place in LI

I am also thinking about going to Priscillas in Virginia when I am home next week or doing another bridal shop. Is this overkill. We are shoppers to the core Is this too much should I cut Saturday down to just Kleinfelds and RK?

I am really stressed about finding a dress I am in LOVE with Monique Llhuiller dresses and it will definitely NOT be within my budget.

I think the maximum I would do in one day is 3 shops - everything starts to blur together if you try on too many dresses.  I've been to more then my fair share of salons, and I've never been in one more than an hour and a half - average trips lasted around an hour.  I think if you have a coffee break in between your first 2 appointments on Saturday and you'll be totally fine.

Have fun!

I was the opposite and I spent a long time in the stores, not because of me, but my mom and the salesperson talking about all sorts of stuff.......I get nervous when I am going to be late to an appointment so I would cute one out.

Just make sure you take really good notes if you are going to a lot of places.  Make a list of the ones you try on that you like and write down good descriptions and make drawings, even take pictures if you can.  Make sure you know where to go back and look if you find one you like, write down who makes the dress and maybe a skew # or design # if they have one.  sometimes you can even google that and print out a really good pic or find it somewhere cheaper.

Good luck!

We have not gone yet it is November 4 & 5. We did go to Priscillas of Boston and another small bridal shop in Northern Virginia when I was "home" last weekend. I am stressign because I look great in pick up dresses the kind with the bunched material but i like all lace but they do not look good on me so I am stressing already :(

Don't stress I have been 4 times and I also will be hitting NYC in Nov, but the week after. I also looked horrible in what I wanted and looked better in what I said I would never wear! So cheer up! Let me know how it goes!
