iso - easy cotton/linen pieces for 'relaxed, minimalist' feel
Permalink Closed

Ive worn out my favorite linen pieces (3 pairs linen sailor pants from anthro and an old ankle length linen skirt im having copies made of) and will be doing research work outdoors (casual) this summer- so Id like to stock up on easy cotton and/or linen pieces tops/pants/skirts/dresses in cotton and or linen - as long as the dresses and skirts come at least to the knee/cover the knee- i looove a wide leg/full skirt I would like to get as many pieces as possible- b/c my summer wardrobe is TOTALLY depleted. a lot of the pieces ive seen so far (especially linen) have been a bit matronly- i think "relaxed minimalist" is what i am going for? lol (to wear with birkenstock gizehs + american apparel deep v neck cotton tees = summer uniform) any recs? so far:

Man, there was a shop in Charlotte (it closed down a few months ago) that carried a ton of these types of pieces. You would have had a field day!

There are a couple online shops that fit the description, but I have to look them up. Can't remember off the top of my head what they are.  I'll get back to the post soon.

Here are some leads.  I don't know about pricing or anything, but these should at least get you started.

Hopehttp://www.hope-sthlm.com/1/1.0.1.0/5/1/ (not sure if they sell to US)        Found through the Inherited Jeans blog.

I would check through Shopbop if you haven't already.

On the high-end of the spectrum, this list is helpful to remind us who typically specializes in the minimalist look (relaxed and not). Links are in small-ish type at the bottom of the page.  http://renaissance-antwerp.com/brands/women/

LaGarconne seems to be a good source.

Banana has some linen pants, but they're the traditional sort, drawstring, etc.

Pooch. I can't find the couple that I thought would work.  If I come across, I'll post them.

Victoria Secret has some linen pants, but I don't know if they are 100% linen or the quality. They were cheap enough to try out though.

There are a lot of maxi dresses out therre, but I didn't see any that could be thought of as "work wear."

The Chloe Conspiracy blog just reviewed ASOS linen tab detail wide leg pants and they look like a nice summer work pant.

Here is a photo from her blog, and a link too:

I love Eileen Fisher! http://www.eileenfisher.com/EileenFisher.jsp

I've never actually bought anything, but I love the relaxed chic styling.

I've been really liking what I see at Zara lately. Nice colors and a variety of looks. They run small (like H&M sizing) IMO. But look at their finishing carefully. Some of the pieces seem well made, but others look like they could be sold at FF21. They have rally cute shoes this season too.
