so I have several Sam Edelman shoes and I love and I "dress around them". I have all my basics covered with boots except for funky boots. Am I blind-sided by the label? Are these uuuuuuuuugleee?(<---not trying to be mean there) or should I get them and "dress around them" and if so, what color?
i was thinking i could wear the brown ones with a plain camel wool pencil skirt that i already own and a chocolate brown cowl neck sweater that i already own. maybe a belt too.

If you can pull them off, then TOTALLY get them!!! They are so cute! Definitely do toned down on top and nothing very pattern-y. I think some pattern would be fine, like a houndstooth check wool skirt in colors that match whichever boots you choose. I'm more of a brown girl, but I think I like the black ones better!

oh, i would totally wear them with basics. i just don't know if they are TOO much.

i like the second pair and i totally think you could pull them off. just let the rest of your outfit be very understated--maybe put them w/ a cream slouchy cashmere sweater and a denim mini (or is that too trendy?)
oh but wait, before i completely endorse them--how much are they and how much wear will you get out of them? if they're too much and you won't wear them that often (maybe because they're so memorable?), we might have to reassess.
I think the brown ones are very unique and beautiful, although I would probably like them even more if they came without the lacing. And yes, a camel pencil skirt would look great with them - a tweed skirt also, I would think.
