Hi Ladies,

I just had a baby 9 weeks ago and have lost most of the pregnancy weight.
(A whopping 40 lbs) I'm ready to shop again.

My problem is, I stopped thinking about fashion while I was preggers b/c
it was sad not being able to wear anything besides pregger clothes.
Anyhoo, all of my clothes are super outdated and I desperately need
some advice in what to look for when I'm shopping. In other words,
what are the absolute "must have"s?

I'm 5'7'', about 138 lbs, a basic kinda gal who looks much taller than the real
numbers b/c of my broad shoulders. Maybe this is a dumb post but I'm open
to any suggestions... Maybe you can help me figure out what's in these days...?
Is the shrug thing over a lacy cami still in? BTW, I'm in my early 30s.

TIA!

P.S.: Life is too short for ugly clothes!

Hi there!  And congrats!

First things first...are you nursing or not?  This will dictate some wardrobe choices.  Are you going to stay-at-home or are you heading off for corporate America.  Again, choices.

Let me know, and I'll try to get back to you with some appropriate wardrobe recs...

Hi leah_leanna,

I'm part-time nursing. (?) I don't see much difference in breast size though.
I quit my job as I am relocating but will be seeking employment in my new hometown.

I guess I need some cool everyday clothes with some corporate clothes as well.
I don't want my new friends to think I'm stuck in the past.

BTW, as I previously mentioned, I have broad shoulders and I find the lacy
Victorian look doesn't suit my frame quite well.

Otherwise, I'd appreciate all suggestions! Thank you.

Thank you, kaykay.

In that case, I'll keep my black shrug. =)

  • NY & Co has some great blouses/dress shirts.   You can wear them with a solid tank underneath.  Easy access for nursing when necessary

  • Target/Walmart?  One of those two.  Came out with slacks and T's that won't stain.  Always a good bet.
