So I bought a Theory cashmere sweater at Saks last month and there is already a hole under the arm! I haven't caught it on anything (I'm very careful with my clothes), so there must have been a little snag when I bought it. boo hoo.
I'm going to try to exchange it tomorrow, but I'm not sure they have any more of the sweater. So if they don't have anymore, I want to try to fix it. Any suggestions or ideas? Anyone ever had a sweater fixed before? Thanks for any ideas!
I've actually mended a couple holes in cashmere myself, and though it's not perfect, it's not at all noticable. So any decent tailor-type could definitely fix it for you.
I had a tiny hole in a black cashmere sweater and I just stitched it up on the inside and you can't tell at all. Since your hole is under the arm it should be easy to sew closed as long as it is fairly small. I have also read about places that specialize in repairing sweaters by adding new yarn and sort of knitting the hole closed but I think it can get fairly expensive.
