Bedding Questions With Pictures

So here's the bedding that I got.  I really wanted a chocolate colored duvet cover because i think it would look better against the yellow walls, but, as my bf told me about visitors at the last minute and i was sick, i didn't have time to really look for bedding.  this is what i settled on and it's ok.

the pillow has cream and the same blue color stitching.

here are my thoughts:

  • i could get a chocolate duvet cover and use that and put the gold at the foot of the bed (or not even use it)

  • do a cream, brown and light blue look.

i don't know?  the wall color and the head board is really throwing me off.  and there's not an option to paint the walls as they are 20 ft. ceilings and just not worth it right now.

HELP!!

and if this helps here's a painting in the bedroom so i guess i could pull colors from it, but i don't want it to be too primary.

I think a chocolate brown duvet would look great--the gold one looks  a little too washed out, IMO.  I like how you have the different shades of blue.   I think you should stick with blues and browns and forget the orange, going for a more monochromatic look (though with two colors).

I agree with jacL, I'd go with a brown duvet and accent w/different shades of blue.  Have the orange in the picture be an unexpected accent.

ok.  one more question.  if i do the blue pillows and chocolate duvet cover.  should i add the cream from the brown pillow in a throw at the end of the bed?

thanks for the suggestions.  i guess i could always put the orange pillows here

 in my living room.

I don't think a creme throw is neccessary.   And the orange pillows are perfect in the living room.

i agree w/jacL and FP - I think you should do brown and blue and no cream or orange.  I love brown and blue together and think it will look great!
