Salad Dressing
Permalink Closed

Related to the lettuce poll, I'm trying to eat more salads at home. What is your favorite salad dressing. Either homemade (please share the recipe) or store bought.

TIA

I love Newmans Own Balsamic.  It is so good.  The best thing about it is that the LITE tastes exactly like the original.

Also love the Olive Garden dressing (hate the food at the OG, but I stop by and pick up the salad dressing).

When I am in a really wierd mood and want to be transported back to childhood, I get Wishbone Creamy Cucumber.  I know it sounds disgusting but it is actually a quite yummy creamy dressing.

I didn't know you could buy the Olive Garden dressing! That salad is delicious, even with iceberg lettuce. I also (despite usually beinga huge food snob) love the Olive Garden.

If you're not counting calories or anything, my favorite dressing is Bernstein's creamy caesar...

I could literally eat spoonfuls of this. I am so disgusting.

Ken's Greek.  Or any Greek dressing really, but that one is really good.

I use the Italian dressing that comes in a packet with a shaker, Instead of using the recipe they give I use balsamic and olive oil. I love it and a little goes a long way.

the good seasoning packet with the cruet is good---just substitute olive oil and balsamic vinegar instead of regular oil and vinegar. shake and VOILA

PROCEDURE:
Fill marked cruet to V line with Balsamic viegar
Fill marked cruet to W line with water
Fill marked cruet to O line with olive oil
Add Italian salad dressing seasoning packet
Shake vigorously
Refrigerate for 10 minutes

I'm glad you posted this - i'm always looking for new dressing & I absolutely HATE low fat / FF dressings, so maybe through this I'll find one I like.

My absolute favorite but fattening one is by Cindy's Kitchen - Roasted Garlic Caesar - I get it at Whole Foods - yum.

I must admi that mango salsa vinagrette in that picture looks yum as well.

Kraft Greek Feta and Oregano- it has little chunks of Feta and olives in it. I could drink it right out of the bottle.

I loooove Kraft Catalina (that looks like it's spelled wrong) dressing... maybe it's nostalgic. I'm not a big salad dressing person in general; this is the only one I like. I, too, am gross... I could drink this stuff! I even have my own version of a Chef's salad, using the tiniest but of Romaine lettuce, American cheese, ham and turkey (deli style), and tons of Catalina dressing. Ew, I know, but I love it.

I just discovered Newman's Own Olive Oil and Vinegar.  It's delicious.  I don't love a lot of garlic and herb flavor, so this has the perfect amount.  I put fresh shredded parmesan and sunflower seeds with it.

Wish bone blue cheese    I stay away from it because it has  alot of fat and calories    Always 2 blue cheese is close to the real thing.   Fat free honey mustard but I would like to  make some from scratch.

I swear it doesn't taste low-fat at all. It's refridgerated in the produce aisle.
