Annoying new co-worker
Permalink Closed

My new co-worker is annoying the crap out of me!!! I am trying to be nice to her but she is really pushing it. First of all, she took the positon that was offered to me 3 weeks earlier. I turned the position down because it was much more work and hours but only 3k more a year. She thinks she is my boss, but she is not! She is coming into the office trying to change how things are run. She has only been here a day and every other word is " At my last job we did it like..." We have a very small office and we all get along very well. She is very conservative, so some of the language used in the office offends her. She doesn't understand that her job is not to come in and take over!!

I totally plan to do this to someone before I quit my job:).

I know, right? I soooo want to do this. I think I'll practice this weekend on something of similar weight. Oh yeah... I have a coworker who's just dying to get his stapler put in jello. He doesn't know it yet but he is.

Oh this is so annoying! It has happened to me quite a few times. When they come (on a lower position) and bossing everybody around like they own the place! They sure don't last very long though because nobody likes them and they don't feel welcome and quit. It could be worse though. Where my mom works her boss let everybody know she was better than everyone else. Plus she always had to point out that she was MUCH younger than my mom but was the boss! People complained about her, and then her boss basically told her she was going to have to relocate or be canned!

LMAO at the 'stapler in jello' comment. I think that there are some staplers around here that are begging to be jello-ed. Hehe.

That sucks that you have to deal with this girl. Maybe she's trying (too hard) to prove herself and she'll calm down after a few weeks. One can only hope.

I agree that she'll probably mellow out with time. I always notice that whenever there's a new person in the office, even my coworkers act weird. They do this whole thing where they try to make more jokes and show that we're "like a big happy family" or some shit like that. Ugh. Drives me nuts.

But your coworker will probably get the hang of the office before too long and she'll stop feeling like she has to prove to everyone why she's there.

We had a talk and she is not so bad. I found out that she has a really poor self image of herself. Now I can be a little more understanding because I feel sorry for her.
