i tried those on a few months ago, i tried the 9.5 and they fit. In some J. Crew shoes, 9.5s are huge. However, i didn't try the 9, so i possibly could have fit that too. So i'd say get your true size, but you can go half a size up if you want to wear an insole in there, just don't go up to the top range of your sizes- they may run smaller for J. Crew but they don't run small- so I'm going to say they are TTS- i'm between a 9 and a 10 and the 9 and 9.5 would have worked, not the 10.
