Favorite movies that aren't new?

I often go to Blockbuster at 8-9 at night to get a movie when my bf and I are bored. By this time, all the new movies are out. So, what are some older movies that are good and worth  getting? Thanks ladies.

Hmm, I don't know if this will help, but my faves are Titanic, Goonies, Jurassic Park, and Poltergeist...

I also like Fast Times At Ridgemont High, Dazed and Confused, and a lot of Disney animated

There is this great movie from the early 90's called Where the Day Takes You.  If you can find it (it's hard to find) rent it!  It's so good.  It's got a bunch of actors like Dermot Mulroney, Lara Flynn Boyle, Will Smith - before they were famous.

don't forget ricki lake!!!

i was going to post this, this is my favorite movie of all time...plus the majority of the soundtrack is melissa etheridge, and i love her too.

another i like is "this thing called love" (i think) - it's river phoenix's last movie.  it's got a lot of country music in it, so if you hate country you probably won't like it.

i'll try to think of more, i just got so excited when i say where the day takes you that i had to post immediately. lol.

asf - i am cracking up!  I was so excited to see that two other people had heard of Where the Day Takes You!  Everyone I ever tell about this movie has no clue what I'm talking about.  It is soooo good.  And I love The Thing Called Love Too!  I forgot about that one.

My all-time fave is Sixteen Candles followed closely by Grease 2.  There was a goofy horror flick I used to like called April Fool's DayWar of the Roses is funny in a demented sort of way.  I loved the first Revenge of the Nerds.  I also like two old Brooke Shields movies:  The Blue Lagoon  and Alice Sweet Alice.
