My concern with a sweater that thick is that it may not look polished since your skirt is fuller on the bottom.  I would wear a closer fitting top/sweater with that skirt. The sweater almost seems too casual for the skirt. Also the boots and skirt look like they are very different browns.  Normally it may not be a problem but since there is so much brown on you bottom half and they so close together it may look strange.

I have to agree with shpgqueenet.

the concept is cute, but I agree that that sweater maybe too bulky for the whispy silk skirt...

I had a bad feeling about the brown mixture when I posted the outfit.  Does anyone have any better suggestions?  I keep thinking a khaki military jacket would work, but it seems that every outfit I wear has a jacket in it.  I feel like I need to step outside the box.

I think something along the same lines, but more fitted and slightly cropped will give you a better silhouette:

I know it's $$$, but to give you an idea of the fit:

Theory 'Bia' Sweater

Or this would also look nice:

wilhemina cardigan

and I think I'd go with textured tights and pumps instead of boots:

Franco Sarto 'Cirio' Pump

dollhouse Fancy

Hope that helps!

wilhemina cardigan  WOW!!! I love that.  Do you think a longsleeve tissue tee would look good under it for cooler days?

Yup, especially in a pale pink or a chocolate brown.
