The United States Postal Service sucks!!  It never fails, every time I move, they can't manage to forward my mail despite my repeated attempts to get it forwarded.  The last time I moved, I requested that my mail be forwarded at least 6 times and they still couldn't managed to do so.  My old roommate would call me and I would have to go pick up my mail that never got forwarded.

So now, I have requested (twice) that my mail be forwarded to my new address and of course, it's not.  My bf stopped by the old house yesterday (settlement is Wednesday) and he said I have a pile of mail.  WTF?? WHY CAN'T THEY FORWARD MY DAMN MAIL? I'm so tired of them. They suck.

How did you submit your change of addy request?  I've always done ours online, and they've forwarded everything.  Except for our dumbass mail carrier that used to leave small packages at our front door even though they fit in the mailbox - whomever moved into our apartment has gotten a few freebies .

But we've also received mail forwarded to us that wasn't ours - apparently there was someone living in our last apt complex with the same last name as FH, and his apartment number was Y103 and ours was X103.  Smart people that work at the post office, I tell ya .

I've done it both ways. Six times online (the last move) and three times in person at the post office (once for the last move, twice for this one--after the six times, no mail experience in the last move, I'm hesitant to do it onlin again). Idiots.  And every time I do it online, I have to pay $1.  So. annoying.

the same thing has happened to me.  i don't know why it's so difficult--i used to go and pick up piles of mail from my old roomie who still lived there.  but now she doesn't live there either, so i'm sure some of my stuff is still getting dumped over there.  it's been a year.

i have problems even getting my correctly addressed mail delivered, though.  i think things get lost in the mail-carrier's bag, like the check that my friend mailed me over a month ago that never showed up.  another thing that sucks is i will get "private sale" things from bloomingdales and other stores about 2 weeks after the sale ended.  and my magazines are about 50/50 on whether or not i will receive them each month--but that may have to do with pilfering neighbors rather than bad mail-deliverer.  not sure.

USPS is the devil!  The existence of the USPS proves the existence of hell.  They purposely hire the most incompetent people to work there.  I'm not sure what to tell you because they never take any responsibility for things they screw up and they are never apologetic about it.

I UPS pretty much everything.  Not that that would help you in your situation.

Oh, yeah, me too!! We used to get mail all the time at my old house for our neighbors' on either side of us. So irritating. How exactly does one misconstrue a 2 into 4 or a 6 into a 4? I just don't get it! Grrrr.

AJ, the existence of hell thing is cracking me up.
