STYLETHREAD -- LET'S TALK SHOP!

I was walking to class, when a car stopped in front of me, this guy got out - yelling - and ran up to a girl on the street. He grabbed her arm, pushed her, and then hit her, yelling all the time. She started to run away from him and he picked up a book she dropped and threw it at her! Then he chased her! By this time, I was on the line with 911 and let me just say the police are ASSHOLES!

I was at the most well-known intersection in town, and the dispatch person kept asking me "Where are you again? Where is that?" I described teh situation, and she had me go through some information, describing the two people involved and so on - meanwhile, the guy is yelling at the girl, grabbing her arm, and she has stopped running and is crying.

So, the dispatcher asked me to describe the two people, and when I said they were African-American, the dispatcher said "Oh..." and got quiet. Then she said a car was already on the way, but I saw one up the street turn down another street. And I waited there until the guy left, at least 8 minutes, according to my cell phone, and no cop came. It takes less than 8 minutes to drive from one end of this town to the other. And the police station is less than three blocks away. An officer could have WALKED. I hate Indiana. I hate police. And I hate domestic abusers. Sorry, just had to vent...
