I know. I almost can't really get that into it anymore because it's gotten soooo over the top that it reminds me of The Practice. I'll probably continue to watch it though because I like the characters.

I don't want to say anything now since it hasn't aired on the West Coast yet but I have one question. Did Matt find out the truth about Ava? I know they wanted to keep it from him but I can't remember exactly what happened other than the final surgery and the fact that she left.

Ok, it was good, but a little over the top for sure. The whole threesome scene was a little much!

All I have to say is I am really dissapointed! I was so excited when last season, even though raunchy, was very thought provoking and moved me a lot. When Christian was attacked by the carver instead of Sean was literally balling! I was waiting for such a powerful season to premier last night, and all I got was a fat lady and pretty much porn. I was excited about following Christians story as he tried to overcome being raped and how it would affect his life and personality...but...oh...wait...that happened in the very first episode when he got in bed with that hooker, I mean, very professional detective, and then when his girlfriend caught them she jumped right in. COME ON FX, you are better then that!! I am definatly not going to waste my time watching this trash. All I want to know is who the carver is, I'll pass on the porn.

I am a HUGE nip/tuck fan. I had a little nip/tuck premiere party at my house last night (i know i know pretty corny. . .sigh what's a married girl to do for entertainment.) I wasn't dissapointed by nip but I was just kinda eeehhhhhh about it all. I hope the season gets better. All i know is when the threesome thing happened all the women at the party were like "OH PULEASE" but all the men were like " HE IS THE EFFING MAN!!!" which just goes to show that unrealistic as that sex secene was men will be totally impressed by the most unlikley things and of course dream that ANYTHING is possible if they see it on tv. jeesh.

by the way if julia trys to "take" half of shawn's practice like her mom advised her to do I will be annoyed. I mean come on, allimony for the kids, a decent settlement for her and perhaps the house. .. then can she go and get a job like everyone else in america. . .jeesh!

oh and on another note matt does NOT know ava is a man. also don't you think they were trying to make it seem like in the preview of the season that matt is the carver. . yuck!

I didn't think Matt knew abut Ava, but I heard that he'll find out this season and it will lead him into exploring his sexuality ( I read an interview w/the kid who plays Matt)..so we'll see.

luv2shop - i kind of said the same thing last night...if the whole season is like this, w/soft porn, etc, I'll only be watching to find out who the carver is - i want to know!!

I think I"m in the minority on this one. I thought the entire show was amazing, absolutely amazing. I cannot wait for next week.

I wouldn't be surprised. Look how Sean, Christian, and Julia effed up his life. They pretty much rocked his world by telling him Christian was his dad, then he got into that weird relationship with Ava, and then they all tried to sabatoge the relationship, for reasons he still is not sure of. He has many reasons to be an effed up kid and try to ruin the lives of Julia and his "dads" and their practice. I guess in between the porn we will find out! lol Crazy.

here are my thoughts:

when they had the scene at the funeral where they showed everyone sitting together i thought, "matt looks a lot like Wacko Jacko right now"

when sean said he wanted a brother i cried (i'm a dork).

one of my WTF moments was when they first showed that huge lady (then it was promptly followed by, didn't they do that in SEVEN?)

another WTF moment was when christian is screwing that lady and his gf comes in and he just reaches out his hand and says, "i've changed baby" or something like that, and she just takes it off and joins them.

i also don't want julia to take half. i want them to be together.

i hate that new doctor, he is creepy, and i think julia should work with them (i don't know if she finished med school or what)

scenes from this season show the detective saying the common thread is that the carver goes for masochistic people. and so i was thinking that if matt is questioning his sexuality (maybe jealous of people who don't question their sexuality) and he is mad at all those people in his life....he could be the carver.

i think that the show is very aesthetically pleasing to watch (not just the people ) but the scene at the funeral, all their houses, etc...that's what i also love about the show.

honestly, i'm not too bummed about the show. i love watching it.

OMG!!!! I was totally thinking that too!!! I also think the show is very asthetically pleasing to watch, but, I know I am a baby, I can't watch the gory surgery stuff so I have to close my eyes.

okay, not my favorite episode, but i thought it was pretty good. i wish i would have recapped season 2 though, because i can't remember where we left off w/ everyone. a couple comments:

for those suprised by the porn, it makes me wonder if you have watched the show before... not to be rude, but from the start it's always been about christian in totally unrealistic sexual situations. the very first episode of season one they show him snort coke off kimber's tushy (hehe, couldn't say the "a" word)

is it just me or do julia's bf & the new doctor look like the same person? i though it was for a minute... but i agree, i think he's creepy

when they described the carver, i thought they said HE was masochistic... not the victims, but that would totally support the matt theory because who does their own circumcision besides a complete masochist???:weirdface

I did watch season 1, and agree that it was raunchy, but I guess I expected them to have a deeper tale and travel into Christians pain over being raped, not just jump right back into him being a man whore and trying to get as much sex onto cable tv as they possibly could. I know things on this show are unrealistic, but come on, this was just WAY over the top. I thought the detective, even though slutty, was going to really delve into Christian hiding that he was raped, but then the whole threesome thing happened and I was like, um, hello, where is the crime solving????

The obese woman being stuck to the couch is actually based on a true story that happened in Florida earlier this year. At least I remember seeing a newspaper blurb about it so I'm assuming it was true.

Maybe I'm the only one but I'm really not into the Carver plot. It just strikes me as kind of hokey for some reason, especially since it they seem to be hinting at the fact that it's a main character rather than some random nut.

ya, that's true... i agree i thought it was totally unprofessional (even given the unrealistic nature of the program) for the detective to mount christian. um, hello, people are being sliced & diced and you're spending your time seducing victims??? and i really don't think someone who obviously is having major issues w/ being raped would be cured by a threesome! but as far as christian reacting to being caught cheating by holding is hand out to kimber & her actually taking it... i thought that was classic nip/tuck and wasn't really surprised by it. that detective bugs though...

ETA: okay i just saw this & it made me burst out laughing... "that's too funny. i think i am more likely to have nightmares because of matt's face at the funeral than because of the carver!"

I thought that this episode could have been better, but I have to say that I am ridiculously excited about this season and I think that's what they wanted.

I am so excited that Jude is back- he's so hot, I hope they have him on more often

The fat lady is almost exactly what happened in Florida, the lady in FL died too.

They definately did not tell Matt about Ava, they all agreed not to.

I'm sorry if I am gross, but sex scenes with Christian are hot!!!

I am so looking forward to this season!

Me too!! Just last night I was watching it with two girlfriends and they said the exact same thing. Hmm... maybe he should get a different haircut?

Anyway, I thought the episode was great. I loved how they paralleled "Mama" with Christian (showing the depression, etc.). I thought it was touching. And I loved Mama. I wish she could stick around and we could watch her get skinnier. How awesome would that have been?

The threesome - hawt, hawt, hawt!!! OMG I love Christian and I loved how he said, "I'm back, baby," to Kimber - classic Christian. I guess he wasn't concerned with a condom, huh? (Funnily enough, that's what I kept thinking when he started having sex with the detective.)

It was definitely a good way to start off the Nip/Tuck season. Full of sex, gore, and intrigue, just like I like it.

I heard from somewhere that the carver is someone that we are already familiar with. At first I was thinking that it was the new doctor (wasnt he the one that came to help Sean that one time?), but I think that would be too obvious. My gf thinks that its a chick (obviously with an, um- instrument), which would really throw people off....

I really want Sean & Julia to work out too. I was sad at the end of last night's episode b/c it looked like she wanted to tell him that she was willing to give it a chance, or at least hint around it.

Overall, it was entertainment & its not a reality show- so Im excited to see how it turns out. It took long ENOUGH to come back on!

So, not to be graphic, but in the rape scene - what was the clear plastic looking thing the carver was playing with? Was it a condom or was it a strap on or what? I was confused. I thought it was a strap-on and then I thought the Carver was for sure a woman. Weird...
