What are they?  Have actually worked for you?  I'm always hungry and I can't stop eating! I need to start eating more filling foods.

Suggestions?

I used to be the biggest sugar "crasher" (I would get crazy hungry and MEAN until I had something to eat) and then I added more protein in my diet - not in a zone or atkins way, I'm just a little more thoughtful about what I eat now. It has completely changed my life - and made my hubby happy because no more mood swings! Here's what works for me:

hard boiled eggs
"healthy" nuts like almonds - every morning, I eat plain yogurt with 7-8 almonds and some berries. It has completely eliminated my need for a mid-morning snack.
dried fruit like apricots or mango (be sure they're no sugar added)
edamame

I'll add more as I think of them, but HTH!

To add to JJ's list:

Popcorn (airpopped or almost fat free)

Tea (doesn't necessarily 'fill you up' but is good for temorarily combating hunger)

Whole grains (whole wheat bread, oatmeal, brown rice)

Protein (eggs, hummus, beans, peanut butter, nuts, soy)

This is a very silly question, but how do you drink tea?

Do you add sugar or other stuff or do you drink it plain?

I know there's a lot of health benefits & have been meaning to start drinking it.

I buy the Stash brand, and it comes in soooooo many kinds and flavors.  I've never found the need to add sweeteners to any of those I've tried.  My favorites are Decaf Vanilla Nut Creme (black tea) and Morrocan Mint (green tea).

I usually have a cup whenever I feel munchy, or know I shouldn't be feeling hungry, or know we're eating soon, etc.  It really does help!

Dito to jj's post (even down to the mean part).

I only drink green tea with noting in it, but that is just the way I like it. Some people get the flavored teas. After years of waiting tables I have found people drink it many different teas. I think if you want to add sweatener honey is a great healty choice.

mmm, i love tea... i have the little ball diffusers and cup diffusers and everything...

it depends on the tea... usually i put honey in it to sweeten it up.  sometimes (if it is a black tea) i will put milk in it.  or sometimes i put absolutely nothing in it b/c it is so good alone.

if you go someplace like "World Market" they usually have decent employees who can help you out.

~Granola Bars - they have oats and nuts and raisins - always keeps me going throughout the day and less hungry.  A good snack to keep you going.

~Sometimes I like to eat in the morning - english muffin with peanut butter, honey and bacon(protein in peanut butter and bacon - keeps you going for awhile)

l like eating protein bars (Zone or Luna) or protein shakes when i need to stay full.  Also, whole grain bread with some peanut butter, almonds, apples, Kashi go lean crunch cereal, water or tea, anything thats either heavy and healthy or protein-filled, i like to eat a lot of protein (not only protein in a severe diet way, but trying to cut back on white carbs)  Also, I like to eat a Lean Cuisine or something like that (i never buy the ones under 300 calories- i think they are a waste and more snacklike), and combine it with a slice of bread/peanut butter and fruit.  I'm usually full for a while from that, then just have a protein shake in a couple of hours if i need something in my stomach.

Also I read somewhere a while ago, being dehydrated can make you feel constantly hungry. Do you drink enough water?

not food, but water.

egg beaters at around 6 AM usually keep me satiated until around 11.

my trainer says that if you eat a small meal every 2 hours you'll never be hungry.  i think it works, but i can't always follow it.

I thought of one more - mozzarella cheese.  I buy packages of string cheese, then throw a couple in my purse when I go out shopping.

if you take half a can of fat free refried beans and put hot sauce on it, you will not even want to think about food.

1/2 cup of fat free refried beans has 100 cal.

This is funny.  I actually really like to eat this and always end up eating the whole can!

Edamame are soybeans, and they look like peas in a pod.  You can buy them in the frozen veggie section of most stores.  You boil the pods for a few minutes in salted water, and then squeeze the seeds directly from the pods into your mouth with your fingers.

A lot of japanese restaurants serve them as a little appetizer.  Just be sure not to eat the shell - it's not pleasant!

A spoon full of peanut butter. Obviously not as low calorie as what other people have mentioned, but it really fills me up.
