Hi all.  Does buying from JCrew Factory online put you in the same situation--which we've discussed before--of buying clothes at an outlet store?  You know, you're not getting a good deal on real JCrew (or Banana, DKNY, etc.) clothes - - you're just buying lower quality pieces that were made to sell at the outlet.

That's my understanding. J Crew Factory is the on-line version of the outlet.

hi :) I haven't posted in a long time but I actually shop the jcrew outlet a lot (drive right by it every day) so I thought I'd chime in.
Generally I buy things directly at the store (they have different deals in the stores than online and usually the sales at the store are better) but IMO the quality isn't really any worse than regualar Jcrew. However I've also found that I can get better deals from regular jcrew just by waiting for the extra % of sale codes. Factory though tends to recycle regular jcrew styles so if there's something you loved but missed out on it's definitely worth stalking Factory for a re-issue.

IMO the Factory Store in person has a bit of both - sometimes it is just same quality or comparable, and others it is not BAD quality but certainly not the same as in store. I'd imagine if shopping online, you may end up returning a lot due to the inconsistencies.
