Does this belted trench look even passable/decent as a dress? I can't tell if it's eclectic chic or soccor mom's attempt to screw her hubby by picking him up at a train station in the rain with this and nothing else on.
I want to wear this trench a lot more but I seem to have trouble making more than one or two cute outfits with it. If you girls have outfit ideas, please share. I'm at wits end with this thing!
I think it looks cute like that. I also think it would look cute worn over pants like that. I also see it worn open with pants or jeans like a long blazer...

I think it looks good too. And detroit's ideas are really good.

Cute. I would try tights and some boots. Something along the look of a Frye boot or some other tall, casual boot. Tights might make you feel less like you're part of the nekkid train station scenario.
i have an olive green version of this with short sleeves (it's really a dress) and i wear it unbuttoned a bit with a white built in bra tank, and with dark skinny jeans. i do a low slung brown belt and i was wearing beads and these heels. and my kooba. yours is short enough that you could wear jeans if you wanted to, i would just wear heels as well.
hth.

Thanks girls for the reassurance and the ideas. I can always acount on you all to give me sound advice.
ILoveChoo: It's a light twill fabric that's lined. I would wear it with flats if my legs didn't look so stumpy in them....I really do not enjoy being short.
I'll probably wear it with the top buttons unbuttoned and a sweater underneath when it gets colder. I actually was going to wear the trench with one of my skirts today, but I couldn't quite get over how Mary Poppins I felt in a trench with a full skirt. I saw the look in Lucky though and I couldn't find the page I wanted last night...if I saw it, I would be rocking it today.
