My mom is going on vacation to Italy in a few weeks and offered to get me a Gucci or Prada bag since she plans on getting some for herself! (I my mom!) But, she wanted some suggestions of what to get.  I've never had a really high-end bag before, and have no idea what to suggest to her.  I've been looking at the website and am a bit overwhelmed.  I know some of you are really well-versed in the art of picking out The Perfect Bag, so I'd love to hear your suggestions.

I prefer the look of gucci over prada but that's JMO.  I like bags that fit over my shoulder.  If it doesn't fit I don't buy it!  I also like one strap vs. two.

I'd suggest going to a Neimans or a Saks and trying some of the bags out to see what they feel like. I like the Gucci's!!

Outside Florence there are outlet stores.  Gucci, Prada and something else.    They're hard to find, but if you locate them, they are sooo worth it.
