having dog tags made

I wanted some dog tags to wear as a necklace. But when i started looking at "vintage": read real - ones on ebay it just really seemed disrespectful. So my husband is joining the Texas state guard & has to have his made, so he said I can have some of my very own made & can put anything I want on them.

So what would you put? I was thinking that I would put some strong inspirational type words on them like "courage" "loyalty" - etc as opposed to my name? or maybe my name as well

Any ideas? I know there was a website that sold "inspirational" charms but I can't remember what it was - i was going to look there for ideas. Does anyone know what i'm talking about?

www.charmfactory.com and www.worldofcharms.com may give you some ideas.

Here are some good ones:

  • hope

  • believe

  • inspire

  • dream

  • wish

  • endure

  • faith

Are you looking for actual phrases or just words?

I had thought just words, but after looking around I found things like

"freedom isn't free" & "return with honor" - they seem appropriate - i'm not looking to make a political statement, but now that i realize how much i can put on them (5 lines, up to 14 characters per line) I am open to phrases as well.

I'll check out those sites though - that is what i was looking for originally (& still may do that) - thanks

i figured out by doing an archive search - this is the site i was thinking of that had a "word list" for the charms - i was just looking for ideas
