i'm looking to buy my first really "grown up" planner/agenda. i'm in school so each day should have a large-ish space for writing down assignments-

suggestions? i don't want to spend too much, but feel free to post anything (coach, smythson, whatev) and i will try to hunt things down on ebay

btw, what do you all use?

I like kate spade organizers, too. My favorite is the one lsubatgirl posted, but I also like this one... it's $65. I'm not sure if it's quite what you're looking for, but it has a calander, address book, and a memo pad.

I special-ordered this one through a store in my city (I live in Canada so it's not that easy to get things online). This is THE BEST company for organizers!! This particular one is canvas but they have everything- leather (all different colors), ostrich, alligator... everything. But the best part is that they have TONS of different options for the styles of pages you want in the organizer and all sorts of accessories to put in it (like a little page of post it notes, a hole punch, a calculator). Also, most planners come in 5 or 6 different sizes. This is my first "adult planner" too, and I highly highly reccomend these! The site is www.filofaxusa.com

I saw some new ones at Target that were pretty stylish. If it wasn't for my Palm Pilot, I'd probably get those.

Have you considered a Palm Pilot? They're pretty useful and you can download lots of things on 'em.

thanks for all of the recs guys!

- the kate spades are beautiful- and the trifold design is brilliant- def. an option

-miss callie, i checked out the filofax website, and i love how they are customizable- so many choices, so little time!!!

-exsupahero, i have considered a palm off and on, but i like the feeling of "crossing off" completed assignments- however, i am getting this smartphone when it comes out, hopefully in october (the black model)

bluetooth, wifi, and windows- that way, i won't have to carry around a palm and a phone, or get a blackberry( i'm too lazy to "type in" everything i have to do) - but i can still set an alarm for appts and check e-mail(yeah, i'm a gadget dork ;)

thanks for your suggestions everyone!
