Ok, laken1 and ejc423, who do you think is going home tonight?  By the way, did anyone besides me notice that Suzie screwed up both of her songs.  I think she's going home tonight.

I so don't think suzie is going home. I think they love her & to be honest, as bad as I hate to say it, i think it's between her & JD. I think Mig is going home. I love me some Marty, but I was all kinds of disappointed that he did trees acoustic. I mean, you have Dave Navarro at your fingertips to rock out with you on your original songs & you do it acoustic? I think he needed to completely rock it out, especially in light of the second song he did. And Dave looked bored to death doing it with him. But I could be wrong, i know there is some artsy fartsy goodness about acoustic & all that jazz that I don't understand. LOL

I think Mig is much like Ty - even when doing a dark song, he projects sweetness & puppies. I just don't think he's got the edge he needs for this. But maybe it's just me.

I was disappointed with last nights show. Suzie screwed up- did anyone else notice her voice break on What's Going on? MiG seemed very "musical theatre" to me, he just can't do a dark side seriously. And I am soooo sick of hearing JDs crap song. He annoys the hell out of me.

Marty was good. Trees could have been better- but I wouldn't kick him outta bed for it.

laken - i actually liked that Marty did Trees aucostic and thought it was a good move on his part.  Think about it this way - rather than bore the audience like JD did by preforming the same song over and over the same way, he showed variety and he showed that the song can be done both electric or aucostic. But I also think I'm just biased

As for Suzie - they may love her, but she's got a lot to overlook right now.  She totally screwed up in her interview w/the band the other day.  She was tripping over her words and you can tell she's not that confident w/herself.  She also totally screwed up last night - not only did her voice go out during What's Up, but didn't you guys notice she screwed up during the STP song?  She started to sing "feeling.. and then screwed up and tried to cover it by saying "come on people".  I just think no matter how much they like her, she screwed up a lot lately.

Mig is way too nice of a guy to be a rock star.  He has no edge and I agree, he's just like Ty - way too theatrical.

Brazen - I said the same thing to my BF - Brooke's butt was hanging out!

Ok, not only did Suzie screw up words and timing, she was so off key, especially on Interstate Love Song.  I was fixing my lean cuisine (not really watching, just listening) and it seriously sounded like a joke.  I thought for sure they would be like, "Suzie, what happened?".  But maybe they did and it got edited out.

MiG .  He sang my favorite Stones song and I didn't like it.  IF he gets in the bottom three tonight, I think he will go home.  As much as I wish it would be Suzie, I think they like her because they can mold her into whatever they want her to be.

I liked the acoustic Trees too but readily admit my bias.

I feel like asking J.D. to do Pretty Vegas for the third time was kind of a test to see if he brought the same excitement to it every time.  Honestly, I was a little bored this time.

Not unless she wanted us to see her whoo-ha!!!!!!

Everyone has good points, not trying to argue, I just hate to see things not going COMPLETELY my way.

I still love Marty. I just love Marty. Did I mention I love Marty?

I really like Pretty Vegas and Dave's comment about it becoming a single was a pretty good one. Not that they want to replace Michael Hutchence entirely but I think JD has the most charisma than the others plus he sound eerily close to Micheal to me.

Marty is great but he reminds me of some guy who should be in a British 80s band like The Fixx or ABC, he doens't seem rocker enough for me. And Mig looks like something out of an Austin Power's movie, way too Oasis or 60s to me.

Suzie is a mess. I don't even think she compares to any of the guys and she flubbed up her 'interview' with the band. They didn't look too impressed with her when she blanked out.

For all you Marty lovers (like me) or those who don't think he's rock enough, I just wanted to point out that I also think he's got the most experience. He's been fronting a Chicago band, who have become pretty well-known called the Love Hammers.  Check out their website:  www.lovehammers.com

I know I'm biased towards him, but I really think they'd benefit the most from picking him.  He's humble but he's confident and I think that he knows enough about the business and music today to help lead them in the right direction.  He is the only one who takes constructive critisizm and uses it to his advantage..to me he's the only one who shows a lot of variety.  Sorry, I just love him!

I think J.D would give the band nothing but a headache because he's too cocky and I think he'd be too hard to collaborate with.  Suzie is an emotional mess.  And Mig just isn't right for their band.

Ok I promise to stop tooting Marty's horn now

shopchicago33, I know you love Marty. You know I love Marty too. And every single time I see him sing and INXS song, I think he's completely right for the band. I also LOVE that he knows the direction he wants to see the band go, but I'm torn on rather I think they want someone with that much direction or not. I don't know how I would feel if i were them either - they should want to move into the "now" but not compromise their old selves either - i just don't know where they stand on it. Every single time i think i have a feel on it, something happens to give me the opposite impression, if that makes sense. Also, I don't want to see Marty win if he has to compromise his artistic self in any way because I think he's great & will be great anywhere he lands after this, rather it's reuniting with his old band or not. Maybe it's that he's so versitle that when he sings more alternative stuff I just see him fit into that perfectly so that's where I pigeon hole him (for lack of a better term). But I swear, i tivoed that performance he did of "don't change" and i can't even listen to the old version with Michael singing - it just sounds so....boring. Unless Marty is doing it. So again, when he does INXS I can totally see him fronting. But he hasn't sucked bad enough to get to sing enough INXS songs. I think Trees would be a better INXS song than Pretty Vegas by far though.

I also hate to take up for JD at all, but I think they have editted it to the point that he looks like the villian even when he's not. I'm not saying he's without flaws or not controversial (SP?), but man i can't help but pull for the bad boy sometimes.

oh, and my husband looked at the songs on that CD they are trying to sell & he said they mostly sucked. So maybe I'll find a lovehammers cd & just be happy, since that's what we want to hear anyway (Marty)!!!!

Again, HUGE marty fan, but I'm not sure if this is the best place for him. He's a star no matter what.

laken1 - I agree, Marty is a star no matter what and I think he'll have a great career now whether it be with or without INXS.  However, I don't like his band the Love Hammers, which I think is why I'm rooting for him to win so much..I think he has way more potential w/INXS than he does w/his band.  I should have explained that.  Give them a listen, you may like them, but they aren't my cup of tea.  So I hope he gets to break away from them.

Wow, i really hadn't even thought about that I might not like his band. That's funny! hmmm, interesting perspective.

Here's the other thing i've wondered about so much no matter who they pick. These guys have been doing this a long time. They are over the newness of being famous, having girls throwing panties at them, the money, etc. I wonder how someone without that background - again no matter who it is - will deal with that. They are all so nice - well, seem to be from the show & if they weren't i really think it would have come out in comments & such - it just seems like they would be good at keeping the "new guy" grounded. Although admitedly I think that would be VERY hard with someone as cocky as JD. It just seems like they would be in different places & wouldn't that be weird? I guess it's no different than any band that gets a new singer mid stream, but i never thought about it like that.

admittedly, I haven't watched all the shows, but what is the big deal about Suzie? I would have picked her to go home a long time ago.

She's got a good voice & a good body, but she doesn't really say "star potential" to me. Is she really "roight" for this band?

Suzie won me over when she sang Bohemian Rapsody (sp?).  I was just blown away.  Of course, Marty won me over with Trees!  And J.D. with his Vegas song was awesome too, although, I haven't seen this week's show yet, so I might change my mind.

I don't know how INXS will be able to decide, they're all really great.  I have to say I keep going back and forth between Marty & Suzie, but I have a feeling from your comments that once I watch this week's show, I will choose Marty hands down.

I think this week Mig should go.

I'm shocked. I just didn't think Mig delivered, although i really didn't care who went home first, him or Suzie - but OMG. Ok, I was wrong, I admit, wrong wrong wrong.

On the upside, my husband did make the comment that at least Brooke had all of her naughty bits covered tonight!

I'm a little surprised, but I guess INXS knows that the whole world is just "meh" about Suzie.  Why else would she have hit bottom 3 six times?  No matter how much they like her, she won't sell records.  MiG, on the other hand, has most of Australia, the UK and the Philippines voting for him out of nationalistic loyalty, so if those same people will buy the album, it may be a smart move to pick him.

But--I really do think that Marty would be most beneficial for INXS.  I think he would make them relevant to more people than anyone else.

However there are a lot of JD fans out there.  I just think he's not good at collaborating.  Was he the one who re-arranged the new INXS song "Us"?  And Pengilly got all wigged out about it?  I can't remember who that was.

I wasn't surprised at all - I figured Suzie would go home.  I'm glad she did honestly.  Like halleybird said - what was so special about her?  And honestly, I just couldn't see INXS being fronted by a woman.

Go Marty!  I'm going to be on the edge of my seat next Tuesday!!
