I was just wondering how you guys met and decided to start the website?  I don't know if it has been asked before?  Just a thought

Hey Janey -

Well, Detroit (Kris) and I have known one another for - geez - it must be 4 or 5 years, way back when a lot of us were over on the Lucky boards. We made our way to FH when Irene started that up, and when she decided not to continue (I can say now that must have been a lot of work for one person!), Kris suggested we get started. We'd actually been talking about it for a few months anyway, but saw there was a void to be filled when FH left the scene so we put our plan on fast-forward. Kris and I are friends on and off the boards, in person and online, which helps. We also really wanted a place where people could talk about anything without fear of censoring, as on some boards out there like Lucky. Then we were fortunate enough to get such talented people to join us in writing the columns and features... I think what makes our little site unique here is that it's entirely run and written by people who came out of this online community, so it's like a group effort by all of these people who met up in these forums. The web site itself started up 2 mos. after the forums, because we used the forums for gathering feedback & ideas for two months. So it's cool because everyone here can really feel a part of the stylethread.com site and also of the forum. Anyway - that's probably more info than you wanted. I hope you're enjoying!

Thank goodness ST came along after FH went defunct.  I don't know what we all would have done if we had to go back to the Lucky forums *shuddering at the thought.* There were some nasty trolls over there back in the day.

Well, it looks like Taru filled you in just fine! I get the "how did you meet your business partner" question on occasion, and people are always surprised we met online.  I guess it's a sign of how technological advances are changing our world

I'm with Nylabelle. I don't know what I'd do if ST wasn't around. My boss would be happier but I wouldn't.
