I'm mega indecisive and need all your opinions please!
I currently own one black wool winter coat (with no hood) that's knee length. It's a fairly prim and proper-looking coat.
The coat I own is ok, especially for wearing to work, but I just found a winter coat I really love. I have been wanting a coat that's hooded (I don't like wearing hats), does NOT fall to my knees, and is fitted (I'm only 5' 4" and don't want to look like the coat is swallowing me.)
This one fits the bill perfectly. It's wool in case you can't tell from the pics, and it looks like it would truly keep me warm during our cold long winters. I like both the black and white, even though I already have a black coat. This topic may have come up before, but is it stupid to get a white wool coat when I live in Boston? Which do you prefer overall, the black or the white? Or do you not like the coat at all, and want to suggest something else?
Please let me know your thoughts so I can decide already and place this order! TIA!
I voted for white. You already have a black coat and I really like the white. I have a fairly similar white winter coat from Gap from last year (mine is just shorter in length) and I love it. I have had no problem keeping it clean.

ShopChicago, did you treat your white coat with Scotchgard or anything like that? I was just worried that maybe just being in the city would turn the coat gray in no time...
christine - yeah i scotchguarded it and it's been fine. I wore it quite a bit last winter too and I live in chicago - if it's gonna get dirty anywhere, it'd be here! HTH!
i personally perfer the white one, however the black one is probablly more practical. why not get the black version and then buy a cheaper white version from oldnavy or gap when they come out this season. that way you can be practical and still have fun. if you choose to do that i think the gap and oldnavy puffy ones are shorter then the coat you showed here. good luck hth
i'm partial to darker colors, but in this case, i like the white better than the black. like lilykind said, you can see the details better, and i love the contrast between the (faux?)fur and the white better than the contrast with the black. keeping it clean might be an issue, but you can so rock this, especially since it looks like it'd be a softer/warmer off-white than 'regular' white.
