Looking for the perfect denim skirt
Permalink Closed

I am trying to find a denim skirt to wear with my boots & I'm on the hunt. I guess the most important thing will be finding the one that fits right, but for whatever reason I have the same issue with denim skirts that I do with jeans. I can try on 100 but only 1 fits right. I'd rather just a plain kind with maybe a twist (like a jagged edge or something), knee length or right above, no slit up the front cause i already have that & under $100, but i'm open to suggestions...anyway here is what I have come up with so far - I'll be doing a "try on denim skirt" day i suppose on Friday. So comment if you love or hate any of these, and add any others that I could possibly find at a b&m store. I am in Dallas so we have most stores & I really need to try it on. TIA

Gosh, this is harder than I thought this time of year I guess. Suggestions?

I really love that first one. I have been looking, too, and haven't found anything other than it that I've liked, but if I see anything, I'll post.

Where to go other than (my list so far, i'm such a nerd )
Banana Republic - I don't see any online, but it's worth a shot i suppose
J Crew - I think that one is my favorite but I'm really having issue swallowing the $88
Old Navy - but i always have issues with their bottoms & online they are long or short - no in between
Gap - I like that first one too but am not holding out much hope that it will fit well.

As far as Nordstrom, Dillards, Foley, etc - what area do you look in? I always get confused at department stores when looking for a particular item. I feel old to be in juniors - cause I am - and like I'll look like my mom if I shop elsewhere....

Where else to go?

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem

I have a see through soul one that I like- it was $60 from Nordstrom BP.  Rampage also sells this line- maybe you could check there?  Maybe Nylabelle knows if Rampage has any good denim skirts out right now.  You could also check AE.

I really like that first one, although the second gives off more of a casual vibe.  Im wondering if they have the 2nd one in the dark rinse..... Is gap's website working again?

Laken1- do you think that 2nd skirt would work with my new (old) boots?

I just tried on the first one from the Gap.  I liked it because it has stretch, so it fit really well, but I didn't like the tab belt thing - it added a lot of bulk in stomach area, something I try to avoid at all costs.  It would have been perfect except for that

I will probably end up with the JCrew one, unless I stumble across something cute.  Here are some other recs for places to look:

A&F

Nordies Brass Plum

Macys/Foleys/etc Juniors dept

Let us know what you get!

I think it would, but I would like to see it in a darker rinse as well - on the site it's kind of coming off "older lady" ish?? I don't know. I hate this!! Yes gap site is up & I hate it as well. (i'm a big hate fest this morning!)

lynnie, thanks for the reminder about AE, see that's why I posted here - their jeans actually do fit me well & I ALWAYS forget about them.

Tara - I still think the J crew one is my favorite, someone here has it but I can't remember who now - I even specifically asked to see a picture of it on & it was cute so it stuck in my head.

jj - thanks for the heads up on that Gap on, I'm going to try it but when it doesn't work out, I won't be as depressed if it's not just me!
