wow alot of coffee drinkers, man Iam going to try some of that starbucks, but we dont have it here maybe next time iam in houston i will try some, as for being hooked to it, it is the taste for me!! i love it just as much as i do my diet sodas
For those of you that love pure, unadulterated coffee, a French press is the way to go. I could sit down and drink a whole pot by myself.
This is funny--my former roommmate had a french press and the one time I tried to use it, I don't know what I did wrong, but I ended up with coffee coffee-ground water! That turned me off it, though I am considering getting one of my own. I am sure I could figure it out
oh! and i miss dunkin donuts iced coffee (no dunkin donuts out here in sf ). there's nothing better on a hot summer day than a medium french vanilla iced decaf- light and sweet. delicious!!! -- Edited by sfcaligirl at 12:56, 2005-09-13
There is nothing like Dunkin Donuts for a cheap(er) coffee fix. I didn't realize how much I missed not having DD until I lived in Los Angeles for maybe a year. It's so weird to live without it. I literally had a gallon of the iced coffee when I was in NYC back in June....mmmm.
According to one of my co-workers who was an LA native, there were Dunkin Donuts in LA maybe ten years ago or so but they could never compete with Winchells and later Krispy Kreme. *sigh*
I got hooked at a new company I started for at about age 26 and it's all because of those sweet creamers from Nestle, especially the cinnamon vanilla one. It was a small office of all coffee drinkers who liked to brew it strong. The smell of fresh brewed breakfast blend from Starbucks coffee just filled the halls, so it became hard to resist. After a little while I realized I was addicted when I ordered a coffee on an airplane and I was just fine with the bland powdered cream. Nowadays, while I prefer coffee with cream, if I am out, I will drink it black. I never thought I would like black coffee 10 years ago!
I was good though, I very rarely drank more than one cup a day and now that I am not working, I don't have that temptation so now I probably only drink 2-3 cups a week.

Maddie, May be you have tried a very dark roast? If you try "light" or "medium" roast, you might find out that it doesn't taste as burnt as the darker one.
Yeah, I know, it looks like I am trying to get you addicted...

I've tried it all. Even the Frappucinos that are pretty much all sugar and hardly have any coffee in them gross me out. I just don't think it tastes good at all.
Coffee, or even dark tea, makes me sick to my stomach. I can't even have some types of coffee ice cream. It really doesn't bug me that much, except that I love Haagen Daaz coffee ice cream, and I used to love caramel frappucinos. Oh well, I guess I can spend the money on clothes instead...
yes, i love to drink my one cup of coffee, every morning as i wake up. if weather is nice, i sit in my hamock chair to enjoy it , as i watch the birds. or read. if weather is not good, i sit at my beautifull computer. maxwell house is one i love best. don't like the flaver ones. don't use sugar . just cream. Yeppers. That's about right. My mom actually has a coffee mug that says, "No coffee, No workee." I think that's hilarious. One of her co-workers bought it for her.
I don't drink coffee, but I consider myself a coffee expert, lol (I've worked at Dunkin for almost 4 years)... I started to keep track of some of the "regular" customers a while ago, and it's shocking to know how much coffee they drink. There's this one guy who comes in AT LEAST seven times a day and gets a large iced coffee and a coffee roll every time. Another lady comes in 3-4 times a day and gets two medium iced coffees, one to drink and one to put in the fridge for later. She comes in so much that some of the employees have been invited to her house for cookouts and stuff because they're on such friendly terms. People love their Dunkin Donuts up here, let me tell you... we have Starbucks, Krispy Kreme (everyone thought that would be the end of us), Honey Dew, Tim Horton's... they're no competitoin . I don't know why though... Starbuck has so many different, yummy choices. Sometimes I wish I drank coffee; I have a caffeine addiction (Diet Coke) and if I don't have any in my system within an hour of waking up, I have the worst headache for the rest of the day. It'd be nice to not have to drink soda first thing in the morning

That's too funny. My husband worked for Starbucks in CA for 8 years at a bunch of different stores, and it's amazing how many friends he met from working there! Regular customers would just get to know him and they'd hang out and stuff. One of his regular customers invited us to a house party too. And when my husband left the company, he literally had customers send him cards and give him goodbye presents when he moved to NC. It is amazing how people get so hooked to it.
When I worked at Starbucks this woman came in twice a day and got a Venti Vanilla organic latte. Not only was the habit costing her about $10 a day, but she forgot that organic milk is full fat milk and she gained 20 pounds!!! She ended up cutting back to one a day and lost the weight.
