It's a big shopping event and most of the vendors are up and coming indie designers. You get a great goodie bag and there is an open bar. It's fun. There is one in LA and NYC.

Hehe...I went to the summer one in '04 and didn't buy anything. I just enjoyed browsing and parked myself by the open bar for a bit. And the goodie bag was cool, too.

I might go with people from work. I might go with friends. Sigh...it is so hard to try to get people to commit to anything unless it is happening next week. Do you want to plan to go with my friends and me (or just me if that's the way it turns out)?

I might try to go. My husband and I have friends that just moved to Manhattan and we have been trying to plan a weekend to visit them. I was thinking about going during the "Lucky Shops" event in November but I've heard so much about Shecky's that I'm wondering if that would be a better choice. My work has blocked the website so I can't see the invite; can someone tell me when the one in NYC is and if you need an invitation to go?? Thanks! BTW I would love to meet some of you all--I've met a few posters in DC and TX but none of the NYC girls (or other east coast girls).

The dates are Wed, October 26- Friday, October 28. I was thinking of going to Lucky Shops, too, since I've never been to that.

The Friday would probably be the best for me. I also could probably round up a couple more people to go if it is Friday. I could really go any day though. My job is flexible.

AJ and Karina, Friday works best for me as well. I can just take the day off from work and if I get home late, it's not a big deal b/c I won't have to work the next day. I'll try to find at least one friend who wants to go so I don't have to make the journey by myself. Maybe I'll get a hotel in NYC for the night, too.

Oh damn--I thought it was on the weekend.

Nylabelle--I *might* be able to go on that Friday if I can talk my husband into taking off of work and going early. The trip we are planning unfortunately has to be a weekend trip b/c we both work and have limited vacation time (b/c of the time off we took after Lucy was born). Hmm, the Lucky Shops event might still work though b/c if I remember correctly, it was on a Saturday in November. Let me know if you (or anyone else) is going to that--I'd love to meet up!
