Stain remover
Permalink Closed

My ex husband sells supplies to dry cleaners, so I have used pretty high power stain removers on my clothes for years (like about 10 years). Since my stash has run out & i hate his guts now, I need a new stain remover for my laundry. Any recs? I have a stain stick but I am always wary of it because I feel like it is rubbing the stain in worse. Does anyone use this? Anything else?

TIA

I really like the stuff that comes with Dryel (home "dry cleaning" kit).  It has removed a lot of tough stains for me.

I LOVE Carbona stain devils they come in different types depending on the stains. I think you can get them at Hanover Fabrics.

ditto. this stuff is fantastic! even if you don't do a lot of dry cleaning, I would buy it just for the stain removal stuff.

I use the Spray 'n' Wash stain stick and it has never let me down. I think it comes in spray form as well if you don't like the rubbing. When I get a stain (often, I am clumsy) I just rub some of the stain stick on and wash it next time I do laundry. It has worked on red wine and a whole lot of other stains. I don't wear a whole lot of "fine" fabrics, usually cotton, so I don't know how it would work on other fabrics. I have used it succesfully on rayon too. It is one of my favorite household products, right up there with the Mr Clean magic eraser and those blue puck thingys for the toilet!!

Oxy Clean powder and a lot of elbow grease.

I am a loyal fan of Zout.  They actually use it to get the grease makeup out of the costumes in Cats.
