Flat Irons

I am in the market to buy a new flat (straightening) iron. I went to Sally's the other day but they had to many to choose from. So i was wondering if you girls could help me by telling me which one do you use? Do you like it? And how much did it cost? Thanks.

I have a Chi and I absolutely LOVE it! It was totally worth the investment, since my old one (Conair-it was crappy) still left my hair frizzy and it took me like, an hour to straighten with it. My hair is completely smooth when I'm done using this one, and it only takes me about 15 minutes to straighten.

Not a cheap one, but I think it's worth it: $110

Does the chi damage your hair if you use it regularly?

Kel- just make sure what ever iron you end up getting is a ceramic one.  i've had a chi, wigo and cricket and I have found my cricket to be the best.  I also noticed that farouk (maker of chi) has another new iron out on the market.  I would go to Ulta and see what you come across.

nicoley013- as long as you use a thermal protectant (like Redken Hotsets or Kenra Thermal Styling Spray) on your hair before flat ironing, you will protect your hair and not damage it.

I use the solano sapphire. I have tried a few others that are more expensive, but I have a lot of REALLY thick hair - so I need the 2.25" size of the solano and the attached comb. I find my hair comes out a lot straighter that way.

It was $85 I think at folica.com
