Aw sorry to hear you still playing the waiting game...I know it's not what you want to hear, and you probably know, but first babies are often late (past their due date).  I guess she is really liking the accomedations.

What exactly is a Non Stress Test?

They basically hook me up to a monitor for 20 mins. or so to make sure all is ok - as long as it is they will keep her in there...if not, then I guess they induce.

I'm sorry I was really hoping for you to be in labor and have her tomorrow (its me and AJ's b-day ).  I will say that I was 3 weeks late on my poor mom.  I'm not sure what finally got her in the hospital.  I know when my brother was born she went into labor because a dog charged after her and my dad.  I'm sure you don't want that though.  Maybe someone could try scaring you a little to get you into labor?

Aw, I know it's uncomfortable, but she's just getting good & ready! My little nephew was due on 12/24 and arrived 12/31, and my sister was SO READY, but it also gave her a few final days to absorb the "this is really it" aspect... in retrospect, somehow it made the late days of her pregnancy more poignant and full of expectation (so to speak)... and she has never looked prettier. I know, as mom just about to burst, that sounds like a load of crap. But seriously, these extra days are precious in a way, if that makes sense.

And plus, wee Sam was well, well, worth the wait. And your babe will be too. In the meanwhile, try eating something spicy.

Do you feel like your doctor is pressuring you?  Soooo many of them want to induce 'just because' they want to, with no concrete reason as to why it has to be right this very second.  Grrrr!  The average delivery date for 1st time moms is 8 days overdue anyway ... just the first round of the baby calling the shots I guess!

Hang in there!

No actually - they aren't pressuring me at all - they won't even talk about being induced until I am a full week late - and even then they'll let me go another week.

I guess it's just a fear of mine since things aren't progressing on their own at all.

don't worry yourself too much about induction.  From the beginning, my obgyn told me she doesn't like to let her patients go any more than five days late, so I knew it was a good possibility.

My son was due on a Friday, and since I am small, my doctor went ahead and scheduled me the following Monday.  She even would have scheduled me on my due date, but my hospital doesn't scheduled inductions on weekends, plus weekday staff are just better.

Anyway, because of the pitocin, my labor was around five hours, and it was no big deal.  I was SO ready to have that baby, I almost cried the day before, but once it was done, I actually missed being pregnant.
