I think they're cute, but not worth it, they are gold fill right?? I think you will start to see it at like forever21 and other trendy stores for a lot less, and since it is a trendier statement, you wouldn't want it for much longer than it would last.
The first ones are..i don't know. They look like they are gold painted wood or something. The third one is gold plated. Yea, i agree that they are trendy, which sucks because i like thick gold jewelry, though I would prefer if it was real
I like the first one and the second one but i think the third one looks kind of cheap. Also, I really don't think the prices are that bad if you think you'll wear it alot. Obviously I'm speculating because I haven't seen a necklace like this in person, but I think the low end knock offs will potentially be cheap and tacky looking. I also think that despite the trendiness, you'd be able to bring it out later and look cool without screaming "2005." I think it would be fun to layer it with some dainty and delicate pieces.
Oh, and I love that pirate ship tee. It reminds me of the incredibly overpriced Great China Wall one that I wanted so badly. I'm on the wait list and I can't wait til it comes in!
I actually like the third one. I think the bulkiness of the first two make them trendier and thus, won't last as long. Although I agree, the third does look cheapy-ish.
And i LOVE that pirate tee! I've been eyeing it on girlshop too!!! Just can't justify spending all that $$$ for it when I could find similar at UO.
i like them all. i'm actually making one very similar to it for fall (see my response to dot's post for info on where to buy the links. they were like $2.50 per yard). while i think they're trendy, it's definitely imo a trend that's just starting. i think i've only seen them on one celeb (nicole richie) and when i tried to find a pic i couldn't. personally i think gold/silver jewelry is going to make a big comeback (not that it's ever been out of style, but right now everyone is still kind of on beads/wooden jewelry) so the idea seems really fresh to me and you probably get at least a season of wear out of them b/f it really takes off. i hope to finish my necklace this weekend. if i do i'll post a pic for you (if you want).
