Oh my goodness!!! I just got the JCrew catalog in the mail yesterday, and they do have some beautiful stuff, but it is ridiculously expensive$$$$$. Who do they think they are? Does anyone actually spend full price for their stuff? (none of my business)? I am sorry, it just was amazing to me so see those prices on non-designer clothing. I had to vent.
I thought the same thing about that catalog! I used to actually be able to afford J.Crew when I was in college. Now I make more $$$, but I can't afford them. Also, I don't find their quality to be any better than BR, which is usually cheaper.
Aside from the prices, though, it was a beautiful catalog.

hmmm... i haven't bought anything outside of shoes from j.crew in awhile, but i do think that overall they've improved their quality -- hence the prices. i was actually scoping out some of their latest stuff and i was quite impressed with it in terms of feel and cut (though in general i still don't like to pay full price for anything). for example the sweaters they have now are much nicer and a lot less itchy than the old stuff from them i have (that shetland wool they used to use itches like crazy). so while it's still not "designer" i don't necessarily think the prices are outrageous considering the improvements they've made.
Other than shoes, the only thing I'm really intereseted in is a cashmere cardigan of theirs for $158 or so. Is their cashmere ok? I know some people say J Crew has off years with cashmere where it pills like crazy that season, i was just wondering if anyone knew how this fall's batch was?
