What would they be? I need to buy one pair of shoes I can wear to work in a businessy place (think accounting firm, just to be on the safe side) and on interviews. Would they be pumps, pointy/round, what color? Any specific recs? I don't want slingbacks. I already have black ferragamo roundtow bow slingbacks, which I'm thinking I can def. use. I may get the black suede burberry flats, which could also work if the place isn't too uptight. Hmm that is about the extent of my shoe wardrobe that i can take to work!
i love nine west pumps for work. they are are super comfy and hold up well for the price. i would just get a basic pump and take advantage of the buy two get one free or whatever deal they are currently having and get a couple pairs/colors.
burberry suede just don't seem practical (although they sound cute), they seem comfy, but comfy also translates into something that you would be wearing a lot and i don't see suede as something that will hold up well.

Which pumps do you reccommend? Sorry, I really am clueless. I don't know if I can walk in too-high heels. The suede Burberry flats are more for me than for work =) I just thought I could wear them occasionally to work. Do you know when the deal ends, or does anyone have any recs on Nine West shoes?
I would get black d'Orsay pumps with a pointy toe. Those work well with just about anything.
A burgundy pair of shoes would also work well with brown, and since you already have a pair of black pumps, burgundy might work well. It's a good fall color and it's versatile--brown, black, pink, purple, greens, blues, etc all look nice with it. Since you're in a conservative office, burgundy is nice because it's interesting, but not over-the-top.
If you're looking just to get one pair of shoes right now, I wouldn't do the Burberry loafers. A black leather pointy toe flat would be much more versatile IMO. Suede will get ruined by rain and a pointy toe flat looks much better with skirts than a loafer style flat.
Do you have an interview suit - depending on the style (trousers, skirt), that would influence my shoe recs. I would vote pointy toe to go with trousers, or a round toe pump for a skirt.
I work in a fairly conservative office and wear mostly pants/trousers. I love kitten heels and pointy toes....so here are my picks
Coming from working in very stylish (high heels all day) and also very casual (like no shoes) working environments, working in a really corporate financial company was a huge transition for me. I think I get the most use out of my Delman pointy toe flats and my Sigerson kitten heel pumps. I think the shapes posted are definitely good staples in a conservative work place.
i was just thinking of these. i don't have them, since i have mine from three years ago. but this has a heel but it doesn't look too high. also, i would try some on, and bring some insoles with. that way you can see what size works best. i think gel insoles are the greatest invention and am amazed more women don't use them.
the other ones that i like are:
\mine are like this but with a higher heel (4") and they are plain black leather with patent leather trim (kinda hard to explain). they are also from nine west two years ago. sorry i don't have any current ones, but they have held up well.
as far a discounts, a lot of nine west stores in chicago are outlets i think, so they don't have current, but they are the ones who have those special deals. since i tend to buy basic nine west shoes and not trendy and the styles are similar to the ones above, i can find my nine west shoes at the outlets and use those deals. shopchicago33 may know more about it as i think she recently bought shoes from nine west. i haven't in about a year or two.
hth a bit.

black shoes with a heel around 2-2.5" I can't decide if I'd get pointy or round toe...it would depend if I wore pants or skirts more. I have a pair of shoes like this in both pointy & round, and they both get worn to death.

as far as work appropriateness i get the most use out of my black pointy flats and black kitten heels and i have a very broad definition of work appropriate. in general i think a pointy toe tends to look a touch more polished than a round toe, especially for flats. for specific brands, i have a pair of ninewest flats that still look great after 2+ years of regular wear. i also like bandolino and j.crew, if you're looking for something moderately priced that looks good. i really like the burberry ones you posted earlier, and think you'd get your money's worth from them.
I have always had Nine West shoes for my "boring" work shoes - for lack of a better term. Some that are currently on their site that I am digging:
Editted to remove the 2 pair of slingbacks I posted - sorry for not reading thoroughly! I will post more when i find them
Adding these: I worked in a bank & had these or some version of them in black for years (several pair because they were my staples). Yes, they are square toed, but they are classic & look great with a suit (ie, the boring shoes comment)
Or I'm also a big fan of Via Spiga (all these are on Zappos) - I had similar black ones to the third ones - they replaced my Nine West when I upped my $$$ that I'd spend on shoes

If you need a pair of shoes to wear on interviews, you should get a pair of basic black pointy-toe pumps with a 2"-3" heel (I am 5' 3" and make every attempt on Earth to look taller in job interviews). Nine West is really reasonably priced if you only plan on wearing these to work...although if you can find a pair with some detail that you'd want to wear outside work, that would be a bonus. That's how I justified my Michael Kors slingbacks...hehe.
I wear my Chanel ballet flats to work a lot as well, so I think you'd get a reasonable amount of use out of the Burberry ones. Or you could just break down and get Chanels.
