Heels on grass
Permalink Closed

I found out last week that we will be walking on the grass at my son's upcoming wedding. (It is outdoors at a Clubhouse--I assumed they would be putting something down for us to walk on, but no--less damage to the grass if the guests walk directly on it.)

I'm told the grass is close cropped and tightly planted--this is a golf club--and nothing like the stuff in my backyard.

Here's the shoes. I don't want to wreck them--I have the reception and dinner to get through. They are higher and narrower than I ususally wear.

Any secrets to walking on grass? Just walk on my tippytoes?

Honestly, I think you'll be fine, especially because the bottom of the heel flares out.  I got married at a country club on grass -- I wore these (in white, obviously) and I was fine. I did wear some true stiletto heels at my friend's wedding recently and did stick in the grass, though, so I think it is the heel base. When you walk, try stepping very lightly, if that makes sense.

i was at an outdoor wedding earlier this summer and bought espadrilles to avoid the sinking sensation. i think it should be okay if the grass isn't too soggy. maybe scotch guard them to protect them from grass stains? just a thought ;)
