I don't think it's really gaudy, but I think there may be a bit too much going on. I would like it more if it didn't have the ruffle on the bottom. It might look cute under a fitted jacket though.

I know exactly what you mean!  You want to like something so bad, but you just can't.  Most of the time this happens to me when something is great in theory, but the execution was all wrong.  I think this one falls under that category.
