my future brother-in-law is in the army national guard and he just found out that he is being deployed tomorrow morning at 8 am for New Orleans to help out with Katrina.
I know he won't be gone too long but his kids are upset (they are 10 and 6) because he was deployed once before for the war.
Wow. I know first hand that deployments are hard, especially on the kids. After the initial shock wears off, the kids (especially the 10 year old), will probably be SO PROUD of their dad. I wish him the best. It's hard, but we sure need him there.
