I got these boots in black from Alloy:



Their shipping was super-fast, but there really isn't much info about their stuff on the website.  They were unable to tell me what kind of material the boots were or what the lining was (and unable to tell BargainQueen the heel height on her shoes).  Turns out they are imitation suede that REEKS to high heaven!  IRL they are a little frumpy looking so they're going back, unfortunately .

Sorry to hear that, it's always disappointing when things aren't what you hoped they'd be! I'd had my eye on those boots, too, but because they said they were "man-made materials", they lost their appeal in my eyes......

Darn! I was totally going to get them too!! As a girl on a *serious* fall/winter budget (i'm paying off a hefty broker fee.. i love new york) do you think they're too frumpy/smelly? I just cant see myself finding something similar for anywhere near that cheap.... I think I could deal with weird smell that would wear off, but the frumpiness does concern me.

I'm sad they didn't work out for you.  Im nervous to see how my shoes will look like IRL, I hope they don't reek as bad, since the pump doesnt have as much faux-suede as the boots.

mandajeanie - maybe these would work for you?  They're from Old Navy and for $34.  Then at least you could try them on first .



The website says that they're real suede even!
