i've been using a semi-permanent dye to darken my hair since this past spring.  it always looks shiny and healthy at first, but then as the color fades, my hair becomes so dull!  i'm going to the salon next friday to get it recolored, but does anyone have any tips (or products to recommend) for the next week and a half?  i feel like it just looks so lifeless right now...

have you used a clarifying treatment?  sometimes product can build up and dull your hair- or try a shine spray or gloss to give it some shine again!

thanks, bex!  hmmm, i haven't used a clarifying treatment because i thought that they strip your color faster?  maybe i'm wrong...

can anyone recommend a good gloss/spray that doesn't weigh your hair down?

i got a free sample of this when i bought a pantene conditioner, and i just went back and got the full-size bottle.  my hair is wavy and really long (to the top of my waistband), and i've been using this before i put in my gel.  i definitely think it makes my hair look shinier.  i don't think it weighs it down at all, but it's hard to tell since my hair is so long anyway.  it's about $4.

Pantene Pro-V Conditioner, Leave-In, Shining Start leave-in treatment, shining start

I've started putting a tablespoon of olive oil on my hair the night before I wash it (every 2-3 days). It makes it soooo soft and shiny, but doesn't make it oily or weigh it down.
