Bra & Other Lingerie Questions

Eeek! Christmas parties! I am planning to wear dresses I already own, but I have just realized that I need to replace my trusty "party" bra and slip. Both are perfect for my favorite dresses, but are pretty worn.

The bra is a black, majorly padded push-up balconet bra. Of course, it's not made anymore. It has wide-set straps and a structure that pushes my boobs in on the sides (toward the front), if that makes sense. Sort of like this, but not a swimsuit, and it provides more lift and mashes my boobs less:

I wear a 30E, sometimes a 32DD.

The second item is a corselette/shaper slip thingamajig. Ideally, it would create the same sort of cleavage shape as the bra I'm shopping for. I like this:

In fact, I actually think this one is sort of perfect, but it doesn't get great reviews. Anyone have any experience? I'm also a little worried about sizing. While I could order the 32DD, I'm worried it will be too small for me in the body. I'm not super thin.

Sooo, any thoughts? suggestions?

I found a few balconets that come in your size, but I don't know if they fit the bill. Does the cup have to be smooth?  How low cut can it be or should it be?  I'm finding many more "balcony" bras, which have a little more coverage -- but with the wide set straps.

Images are from figleaves and herroom.
You should also look through www.bravissimo.com too.

With the one-piece (which--I agree--could be a great idea if it works), maybe you could go with a 34DD since it's less likely to ride up.  I don't know. That type of thing you almost always have to try on.

Good luck!

Thanks, Pollyjean! A few of those are definite possibilities, especially the last red one by Alegro. I had actually forgotten about Bravissimo, too! I'm going to pop into the store today and see what they have.

Anyone have experience with Kiss me Deadly (see my first post) or with Alegro?

I have quite a few Kiss Me Deadly items. I don't have any bras or the corsolette, so I can't really comment on those, just wanted to say that I've been pleased with everything I've gotten from Kiss Me Deadly.

A few things I've gotten have seemed a little small compared to other brands (like, the bottoms run about 1 size smaller than Freya or Fantasie if you have any experience with those brands) so if you're unsure you might want to order two sizes and return the one that doesn't fit.

Thanks, Kelly! Freya fits me quite well, so it's good to have a comparison of Kiss Me Deadly to Freya.
