Home party ideas
Permalink Closed

I want to have a few of those shop-at-home parties fairly soon, but I don't want to do the same old boring crap that everyone has done before (like candles, tupperware).  I don't think I'd do "adult" parties.  Does anyone have any ideas or know some obscure stores/companies that do interesting home parties?  TIA!

Not that this is really going to help you, but in the spring, I plan to start doing jewelry parties for my jewelry. Actually, I might start over the winter b/c my one (future) roommate wants to organize something with her old sorority sisters.

But anyway, you might look into jewelry for a party. I know that there is one that's a pretty big company, but I can't remember the name of it right now.  I think my mom knows. I can ask her.

What about pampered chef? that is always fun & I love there stuff - you could get a ton for free / cheap from it.

Maybe the jewelry company Nylabelle is talking about is Premier? I've been to a jewelry party by them before - you may check them out online first.

is it silpada?  or something like that?  i have been to joint parties for silpada jewelry and tastefully simple that are a lot of fun... my friend actually has them during college football so they guys can watch the game and the girls can shop!

Silpada parties are nice...the jewelry is a bit southwestern/artisan funky and it's simply on display. The coordinator doesn't try to "sell" you anything or make you feel uncomfortable.

Believe it or not, I think I saw on the Aerosoles website that they are doing home parties...check it out.

I'm actually invited to 2 Silpada parties, so that's out.  Plus I have a friend who makes jewelry.

I might consider Tastefully Simple or Pampered Chef.  I've never done those before - thanks!  I'm also looking into Traveling Vineyards for a wine tasting party.

Bee - I saw that thing on Aerosoles and contacted them.  I think you have to have a pretty high turn out/sales in order to benefit, but it might still be fun!!!

Maybe you could commission your friend who makes jewelry to have a party with you?  Silpada wasn't what I was thinking of. I forgot to ask my mom.  I'll ask her today.

I would definately look into the Traveling Vineyard party.  I went to one a couple of weeks ago and it was fun.  It was a smallish group...there were only about 10 or 12 of us...but the "wine lady" was great not real pushy and because of the intimate size of the group she was able to make some personal recommendations.  Wine was reasonable priced and tasted pretty good.  I'm not sure how the hostess made out in terms of perks...

Southern Living has a nice party as does Homemade Gourmet.  The Traveling Vineyard sounds like a lot of fun, too.  Nothing is as fun as the "adult" party though, hahaha...

I went to a wine one that was fun. It wasn't the best wine ever, but it was very drinkable.

That would be a great bachelorette party!  Just something about sitting around w/ my neighbors and them knowing the stuff I'd be using at some point.   :shudder:

Ooh!  What's Homemade Gourmet?  Never heard of that one!

I just contacted a local gift store to see if they'd do a home party.

ETA:

I don't know if it is this area or what, but a lot of the military spouses here have these home parties.  I get invited to them all the time.

Here's all the ones I can remember (sorry if already listed):

Mary Kay

Longaberger Baskets

Pampered Chef

Partylite

Avon

Creative memories (scrapbooking)

My mom did a Southern Living party. It was pretty cool. Plus, she made lots of sangria for everyone!

Believe me, booze and food will be free-flowing in this house!

Drunk guests = lots of sales.

The last home party I went to, I drank a whole bottle of wine and proceeded to spend about $250.  I couldn't even remember what I bought the next day.
